Winston and Mariota will always be linked, and it’s pretty wild how much our impression of them has varied over the years. On draft day, Winston was the more NFL-style QB but with questionable maturity, while Mariota was a quiet leader but played in a gadget offense Then of course they played each other in their first game. Jameis threw a pick-6 on his first NFL pass, confirming many fears about his decision making. That becomes a microcosm of Jameis’s first few years in the league, with his infamous “eat a W” routine becoming another symbol of this era, eventually losing his starting job to Ryan Fitzpatrick Mariota on the other hand was playing solid yet unspectacular football. In his first year he took a doormat team to a winning record and the precipice of the playoffs. In second year he not only got them into the playoffs but won a playoff game (thanks in large part to Derrick Henry) and got to the divisional round. However after that things began to turn. Mariota led the Titans to a third straight winning season, but was injured and unable to play in a win-and-in week 17 game, which the Titans subsequently lost. In the off-season Ryan Tannehill became available. The Titans signed him as Mariota’s backup, but after Mariota got off to a slow start the next year he was benched. Since then Mariota has bounced around the league as a backup and his career as a starting QB appears to have flamed out Meanwhile after such a negative start to his career, Winston regained his starting job and developed a new reputation as a gunslinger, epitomized by his 30 TD-30 INT season. When Tom Brady arrived in Tampa, Winston went to learn from a retiring Drew Brees for a year before becoming the starter for New Orleans. At that point the situation had completely flipped on its head. Three years earlier Winston was viewed as a major bust and Mariota a viable starter, but now Mariota had become a journeyman backup while Winston was starter material. Since then, Winston has come back to earth himself and is no longer the starter, although he is still with New Orleans, but this effectively brought it all full-circle. Thus in 2023, despite these two very different roller-coaster paths after draft day, both guys now effectively play the same role in the NFL: solid backup QB.

Cam Newton should be mentioned as one of if not the greatest rookie quarterbacks in NFL's History 1st Round 1st overall pick out of the Auburn University he was a incredible great player for the Carolina Panthers especially if he scores a touchdown it's really awesome to see him giving football to the Kids in the stands rather if it's at home or on the road either way he was the best he did won NFL's MVP in 2015 after going 15-1 record going to the super bowl for the 1st time ever in his career only to come so close vs another 1st overall pick in his own right Peyton Manning

I wonder if anybody else caught that at the end. Bradshaw completed 3 passes for 110 yards. He could sling it. Terry is the most underrated player in NFL History. Everybody talks about Belichick and Brady. Chuck Noll with Bradshaw: 146-79. Without Bradshaw: 47-69.
