I just had an audition a few days ago and it actually worked ! Now I am in the best youth orchestra of Germany and i am so Happy ;-) I played Mozart Adagio and Wieniawski second Violin Concerto and the Mozart was as good as Never before and the Wieniawski was ok for how hard the piece is and from the 23 Violinists they took 7 and i am one of them . I really have to Thank you guys because you motivated me to practice so much for this audition

I remember this year for the San Bernardino County middle school honor orchestra I auditioned and the lady said I did a fantastic job and then she put me as concert mistress but then she kicked me out of the orchestra because this other girl was jealous of me and she told the teacher that I was making fun of her and that I called her names even though it wasn't true. She did all of that so she can be concert mistress and so I would get kicked out of the orchestra. I was super sad 😔 but also very mad 😡 at the same time. 😢😞😭😭😭😭😠😠😠

(I play piano btw) Once when I was auditioning for something, they told me where the practise room was for me to practice. I walked in right? I look to side to side, all that was on my mind was “where’s the flipping Piano?!” They had none.. but they had a giant cupboard for nothing, they had a drum kit that was broken, they had a stack of chairs not being used, they had a metal music stand that didn’t work! But they can’t get rid of all that to get a piano or at least a keyboard of some sort!

I just got back from Audition and it's accurate af

I’m almost in my 3rd year of playing the viola and I have only had 2 auditions in my life time. The first one was just an audio recording that my teacher had to send (honors orchestra) my friend made it but I didn’t and she bragged about it all month. Then I auditioned for *MIDSTATE* (both auditions were at the beginning of 7th grade [this year]) for the excerpt, we had to play in 3rd position at the end and we had not learned it yet. Most of the people who made it were 8th graders who learned 3rd position last year. And I had played in 4th position because I guessed based on the tapes. I was given 2 random scales I learned to do (you could not bring the scale music but you had to bring the excerpt music. I was given the G scale (the easiest) and the hardest that required 3rd position. For that one I had accidentally played the 2nd hardest of the 6 scales (I played the 5th instead of the 6th) Everyone had different scales that they had to played but you all got the same music) I’m glad I got to the sight reading part unlike half of the 8th graders. It was my first time sight reading too, my teacher gave us a sight reading website but I didn’t use it because I thought it would be easy or I was to lazy. I cried when I got the results back showing who made it and who didn’t, my friend made it *and I did not* and today we learned 3rd position. Now I’m mad.

This is how I felt with my high school audition. The worst part was that it was an open warm-up room, so I didn't want to play. I ended up almost crying. Still got in for Jazz though. (Which is what I wanted anyways. Plus, I still get to participate in the orchestra, but orchestra can't participate in Jazz.)

This is so true. I had to audition for highschool band (oboe) last Monday and Tuesday and people told me not to worry because “Hey, not that many people play the oboe! Automatic first or second chair!” Right as I got there, I rushed everything and bombed the sight reading, but I’m good at sight reading. I blame the judge for her staring at me intensely as I freaked out. Then I realized “Hey, I still have bassoon.” I’m going to see my chair placement tomorrow morning. I’m so nervous.
