The book The Klingon Art of War provides the name for another Klingon melee weapon called "tik'leth" (or tIqleH in accordance with Okrand's rules for the spelling of Klingon words), supposedly meaning "long blade". Depicted as a type of saber, it bears a close resemblance to the weapon Duras used during his fight with Worf. Similar weapons have been seen as wall decorations in the background on Klingon ships. However, this weapon was never named in canon. I like to think of it as the Klingon version of a standard sword, or as the actual Klingon sword, since the bat'leth is not a sword in the strict sense (the correct translation for bat'leth is blade of honor, the word sword in the official translation is just a matter of interpretation).

For a warrior culture they must not fight very much. Otherwise you'd expect better designs to have developed and dominated like a basic sword. That's how you can tell humans have a long history of fighting even if they didn't tell you

The one that is hidden on the warriors uniform I think there's a piece on the shoe the belt buckle makes up the main body of the gun and I'm not sure where the barrel comes from but yeah I think you forgot that one seen in the next generation don't remember what episode or maybe it was deep space nine oh who knows

Anything Discovery Klingon related is in my head cannon, a aberration. Nevil Page and Glen Hatrick missed the mark. It was a unnecessary redesign and done purely out of ego.
