It is because she had a narrow understanding and world view. For example when I lived in Africa for 2 years the N word wasn’t a slur to them. The locals believed that was a term for only black Americans. Just because you found it offensive doesn’t mean that 99 percent of people outside of your home finds it so. He's not being offended for the Aboriginal people.
