Use to do exactly the same in my old series 2a 4cyl landy with standard 7.50x16 tyres. Unstoppable, just chugged through minimal revs and 12 psi.

I'm from USA and I know to air down before I drive in sand, snow ,rocks etc. I like 14 PSI in my WJ Grand Cherokee.

Tyre pressure. Anyway, rules should be that the first time you bog at Ngkala then reverse all the way back and free the track up for everyone else to get through until you lower your tyre pressure such that you won't get bogged.

They make some really inexpensive inflators. I mean they literally are set the psi you want and walk away so I always chuckle when I see folks airing down AFTER they bog. As if inflating is complete torture or something. Love you channel and vids.

@@Francois_Dupont Look up Staun Deflators. There's copies but the actual Staun ones are the best. I use a core remover from a $4 bicyle tyre repair kit & a $12 digital gauge. Deflators are a load of unnecessary wank

Had and FJ40 with a 350 in it. You did not even need to give it gas over this kind of stuff, it just floated over the top like it was nothing. It loved this kind of stuff. I miss that truck so much I bought a Wrangler JL for the kid just so she could have the same kind of fun.

Look at the SR5 at 19:50, look at how low are those tires . Original oem SR5 are 18 inches, hardly ideal , but you can still go through if the pressure is low enough, the car is nor overloaded in second low range probs.

Not much opportunity to drive on sand here in the U.K. but part of the problem appears to be weight, some of those rigs must be 3t while the little fj40 at about 1.75 t just breezes through. It seems like the more recovery gear you bolt on your truck the more likely you are to get stuck 😜🇬🇧

disagree, Jeep are 1000 times more capable. sway bar & deferential lock from technical perspective. Ford Raptor is ton times more powerful than any Toyota & also more capable. I could see from the vedio that you are not much experienced in loose sand offroading. What was the tire pressure when the FJ pulled the Nissan?

So angry!!! Momentum is also key! Towing in boggy sand requires momentum, I’ve tried both - got bogged going slow at very low pressures, I didn’t get bogged with momentum. Each situation is different but not mucking around the first time helps.

As for angry, not in the slightest, just sick of idiots that think that is the way to do things. Having gone through there towing big boats myself without ever spinning a wheel or revving the shit out of my motor, I know what that pelican was doing, was totally unnecessary.

I had to look up "ZD30". We don't have Patrols in Canada, pity. I have often wondered why the government hasn't put in winch points along the way there. Snorkels and winches seem to be standard there.

Because 95% of people get through just fine. I lived in the region a few years ago and did Ngkala all the time in a mostly unmodified Subaru Forester. There are a group of people who don't believe in airing down and there are a group that thinks dropping from 40psi to 35psi is airing down.

At ngkala when its dry and soft, 4L and 10psi diff lock can be used if recovering a vehicle but not often. The rest of the island 2H and 4H , 18psi all traction aids off.

A: There's a few crossings on the island that can be deep. B: These vehicles probably go to other destinations where a snorkel might be required. C: A snorkel supplies your engine with cleaner, cooler air than a front or under bonnet intake
