Thank you for this recipe! It turned out amazing, all I did was add sliced chicken thighs marinated lightly in soya sauce and cabbage. I put the chicken thighs first to half cook it with the garlic then took it out and put in the cabbage. After that I did everything the same as directed (chicken thighs were put back right before I put the noodles in as I wanted the noodles to marry up with the fat/juices coming out of the chicken thighs).

Yes, thanks. Some brands do have anchovy but It’s also generic term for a fermented liquid (umami) made from tamarind and vinegar dating back to 1876. If you are sensitive to anchovy just use a tamarind variant or some miso to give it umami flavors. Mushroom broth will work as well. Some Shrooms are fishy.

Thanks so much for this recipe. It tasted delicious and the noodles/just the right texture. However it has a lot of sauce, more than is required for the recipe for 500g noodles so I increased the noodles to 750g so that we can have some leftover for tmr's lunch. I Also added a bit more beansprouts. It was quite saucy, & I found the sauce didn't stick on to the noodles so I had to thicken with 1tbsp cornstarch slurry. Is the noodles meant to be on the wetter/saucier side? Unless it could be I prefer a drier type of noodle. Other than that 👍for the recipe, seasoning and taste is perfect.
@spicenpans
@spicenpans 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lilian. If you’re using the same noodles, it could be either your fire is set too low or you haven’t cooked this long enough for the noodles to absorb the sauce. But glad to know that it all turned out well for you. Thank you so much for using our recipe.

@@spicenpans thanks i think it was because my heat was too low. The next time i'll increase the heat. Did u cook the noodles in the sauce on high heat and how long? I was too worried for overcooking the noodles so i guess i kept the heat low the entire time. I used fresh yellow noodles and i didnt precook them.
@hohlilian

@@Gumbo_Calm i used fresh noodles no i didnt precook them. Like roland said i probably kept the heat too low for the sauce to be absorbed as i was worried of overcooking the noodles

@@julietong1418 I don't know about Tangs, as I haven't been to Singapore in 32 years. I should go back. :-) It took some digging, since La Groumet has a bunch of different ones.
