I still think you started that whole train toward having some sort of advancement on the weapons, and the skins are gorgeous. Very glad to know you are pleased by the developments and that Ghost Ship has, once again, listened, even if it's not to you, but to the whole community, who've had a lot of the same issues.

Appreciate the shoutout! This maintenance update looks to be a big step in the right direction and I'm glad GSG is still receptive to player feedback and actively remedying these pain points. As someone who started playing after DRG switched to the seasonal model, it's a breath of fresh air seeing how GSG can actually iterate on the game in interesting ways when they're not singularly focused on seasonal gimmicks 😂 But yeah also massive respect to them for going the nuclear route for seasonal content and letting us switch it off entirely. Takes a lot of humility as the devs to recognize and accept how L that content was and how a sizable portion of the community just wants to disengage with it entirely.

It's such an elegant way to acknowledge the season wasn't as good as expected and still allowing people to do the content if they need/want to while also allowing people who want to play it for fun to do it without being bothered by content they did not like.

The weapon progression is exactly what I wanted from DRG. The game needs more stuff to work towards than just promotions after you get to the end game content. I always like to play with different loadouts to keep it fresh but now I have even more reason to switch it up! Keep up the good work GSG!!

Since they added a way of toggling sesonal content, I'd love if at some point they also added a way if toggling between the different preformance passes, which would also emphesize players to try out earlier seasons. It would also help midigate the problem of the cargo carit and lost pack loot pool size

I don't understand how the rockpox switch works in multiplayer. If you set it to off, does the server browser only show you people's servers who also have it set to off? because otherwise you could be joining a mission that had the pox and it didn't show in your map

i think gsg has handled the situation perfectly. they've seen that most people dont like rockpox so they've given us a way to get rid of it while still making sure you experience season 4 for a bit. they understand that people are worried about a content drought so they gave us a new thing to do while we wait for season 5. i'm really glad that they listened to everyone talking about the issues with the game.

Honestly if they ever went around to update the mission types, I would love new Bosses in Industrial Sabotage, so that you don‘t always have to fight the Caretaker. I like the fight, but I know a lot of people don‘t. You don‘t have to change the whole mission, just add 1 or 2 Bosses so that you have variation like fighting 2 or 3 Dreadnoughts, or mine 200-400 Morkite.

Spreed run idea: Collect 20 eggs. Or a certain amount of eggs. This means several egg missions as well as choosing 4, 6, or 8 egg missions. 20 is just a thought, number could change. Could also do this with Mules, Dreads, etc.

This is why I like GSG. They listen. They care about the games they make. Which is why I think part of why Rogue Core became a new game. DRG got heavy to work on with such fine tuned balance across almost the entire board, adding anything becomes a chore. Now they get to flex there brains and creativity with a new framework while still staying within the realm of dwarven glory that they, and we, love so dearly.

6 month later and we really are getting an option to select a season to play. Nice.

I really hope that fix of stingtail spamming his attack will apply to groups of them. As well as the fix to their sound before grappling getting chewed up. All the other changes are just awesome but I would still appreciate gsg making stingtails a bit easier to spot as they can sometimes be a pain in the ass to find especially with no scout or in solo.

Adding more ways to gain cosmetics will always be a chill way to add progression to DRG. Though I would love to see a way to upgrade the amount, brightness and/or recharge rate of flares. :D but I know thats probably never coming.

personally, i like season four and, with exception for the stingtail, everything is good. So im happy with how they managed this, and thx god they nerfed this abomination.

This update is amazing. Weapon skin challenges, rockpox eraser, STINGTAIL NERF FUCK YES, gsg is the true game dev that gamers deserve.

I don’t need much excuse to get into the mines, but this sort of casual grind in the background (regarding the weapon progression) is a good start. Permanent progression systems are a great motivator to me

for the weapon mastery system id like to see a reward for maxing out all the weapon for a dwarf like a dwarf skin that has themes of all the weapons on it at once Gunner can have a ammo belt,rocket strap,bullet pouch ect Scout has the GK and m100 on his back with clip pouches and again ammo pouches for the sidearms Engi has shells and energy packs on his armor Driller has tanks and other assortments This would be cool and give a "weapon master" vibe to the dwarfs

I did have minor annoyances in this update but I loved that the devs were avoiding crunch, even if it came at the expense of more DRG update content. I hope they're not pushing it just cause the community got salty. If they can balance this kind of support along with their other projects, it'll reinforce why GSG is one of the GOATS in the current game industry.

I love how they listened to you about the weapon mastery and to all the people advocating for this season content toggle. Now PLEASE 1:06 let's start asking for a "pick your season content" option to complete previous performance pass missed, ala halo where you can grind season 1 even if you're on season 6. It'd be great for all of the people that missed old content & it'd remove bloat from the store

Honestly I just want more things to work towards with end game. Like you said DRG has plenty of content and is a finished game which I agree but there just isn't any long term endgame things to work towards. Like by now we should already have something to do with perk points. why have milestones after you complete the perk tree if your points just keep stacking up. Maybe once you reach rank 100 you unlock a skill tree that has minor upgrades to weapons and your character. But they cost a hefty amount. And every 10 ranks allows you to buy the next upgrade

I feel like drg would still live on if they let the community help with updates then make the updates

The season content toggle also helps people like myself who have gotten into the season later than those who play regularly. Personally when I saw S4 have very similar content to S3 I took a break from the game, that has kinda bit my in the butt as in multiplayer not very many people want to do plagueheart events and I still have a lot to go.

I hope the weapon maintenance gets taken further, maybe we could get some cooler camos and maybe even frameworks. I'd just take a fully gold skin tbh

I just want more ppl playing the game, I especially play at night time in OCE, and there max like 10 lobbies and you see the same ppl every night (not that the last part is a bad thing) but yeah, would love to see more ppl just playing these games, hopefully they could do some advertising for these games

They should do an Orc mining company opposite. And that company should also invade hoaxes. And we should have teams of Orc's and teams of Dwarfs basically on the same mission on opposite sides. A PvP version.

When game development adds frustrating content(like season 4) to a game I don't entirely mind it in that I like game devs to try stuff out and see what happens. However, if they aren't willing to iterate or rollback the added pain points it becomes really bad for a game. Glad to see GSG listening and fixing things.

Seeing you just randomly die to stingtail-induced fall damage in the background footage really drives home that I wish they'd mentioned the huge fall damage you can sometimes take from stingtails. At least when a shellback does the same it's less frequent and requires they actually touch you first, stingtails just randomly one-shot out of nowhere for no reason

See, why would you unlock skins for a weapon you don't like using though? If you want players to mix-up how they play, then looks towards how DRG handles promotions. That system does a phenomenal job at encouraging players to try other clssses simply by denying you XP for a bit.

It's not really "niche", battlefield has been using a system like this for unlocking weapons for decades now

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only who thinks DRG doesn't need anymore content. There is SO MUCH content in this game and new stuff even I find after 54 hours of playing! The only thing I'd really wanna see is maybe some more weapons, but I already have a list of reasons that'd take forever.

DRG needs to go back to monthly updates instead of seasons. adding one or two things each times instead of 10 that makes little sense and very unpolished.

This is what ive beens ayong the wholw time, that deep rock is already complete and im happy with where its at the seasons if they stopped a year ago then that was fine because the game is so vast already.

You should really be updating your older videos, like the movement and utility tools one for example, so many things changed and the info in that vid is more or less outdated now, that could potentially mislead new players trying to get better at the game. Even a pinned comment with changes is enough.

I'm so confused about the hate on Stingtails, they're in a great spot and don't even do that much damage... The Septic Spreaders projectile change is great though. Those bastards wipe squads so quick if you don't focus them right away. But does anyone REALLY have a problem with the Stingtails? I feel like they're going to be too weak now...

I disagree on not needing content, it only takes players about 40 hours before they enter the farm-grind loop annd finish collecting all the major items and then there’s nothing new left.

Why the hate towards season content? The missions that have rock pox are very clearly marked so you can just not pick those missions if you dont want it, and having things like prospectors, corruptors and router nodes spawn randomly is perfectly fine, since they are OPTIONAL. Even the bosses will just ignore you if you don't shoot them. Meteors can also be ignored apart form when they drop down, which is always a fun event when it happens and I love seeing it because of how it shakes things up. Now what we ACTUALLY need is a button to turn of fucking korlok spawns, as those things are the single worst designed enemy in the entire game and fighting them is at best un-fun and at worst mission ending. Every time I see a korlok I immediately start debating wether or not to abort the mission because I HATE fighting them.

I dont know about you guys, but rogue core is just about as exciting as a new far cry game…. just doesnt bother me. Why make a different deep rock galactic if you cant even make the classic one enjoyable with a bit of variety and gameplay changes. NOBODY wants a roguelike knockoff… expect some virgins in dark 😂
