you missed the WORST part of this movie! when arlo gets home, his mom sorta sees the outline of him walking through the mist or whatever, and she goes "Harry?" (i think that was the dad's name). which means that she thought it was more plausible that her DEAD husband came BACK TO LIFE than it is that her IDIOT SON who was STILL ALIVE made it back home. like nice glad to know you have faith in your son jesus christ stupid movie

There is one thing I really hate about this animation: The stupid dinosaurs look almost like cartoon charakters and the landscape looks realistic. They just don't match at all! If you are gonna have such a beautiful world why not make the dinosaurs look real too? There is no saving this boring as hell plot but they could have had something with the animation there. What a waste of talent!

I remember seeing this in the theater and when the pterodactyl ate the little creature a woman behind me yelled, “Oh god! OH GOD!” Cracked me up. Call it a guilty pleasure, but I actually like this movie. Flawed sure, but I liked how weird and dark it was.

Hope you remember guys, Pixar almost went broke because of this movie.

I was watching The Good Dinosaur thinking 'It's fairly good, but not a great movie', and then came the scene when the main dinosaur is running on the hilltop repeatedly tossing the small boy character from its head above the cloud-cover, with beautiful composed music playing - and you can tell the small boy is loving every second of being briefly above the clouds. My heart pretty much just melted at that point in the movie.

Miraculously none of the birds took a crap on him I’m dead😂

Man, this movie would've been so much more interesting if Arlo ended up cutting off his leg after it got stuck under that rock.

ok, so I actually had a dream about this movie before I watched it after I saw the trailers and I have to say it's way better than the actual movie. so basically what happens is that at the beginning the exposition is told through cave paintings of a kid and a dinosaur becoming friends, and then the meteors start to show up and they go and hide in a cave and wander into amber. then it flashes forward millions of years and the plot is they are discovered by scientists and come back to life, but they escape the lab and the rest of the movie is them trying to avoid the scientists and live on their own in a new world. I think I was 11 when I dreamt this.

We were expecting some slightly realistic dinosaurs, or at least uniformity. Oh well. There's a reason kids didn't like it

They really could’ve done so much more with the concept of having highly evolved dinosaurs interact with prehistoric humans.

Visually I think the characters design didn't fit well with the beautiful lifelike environments.

Also, the Main Villain in this Movie is Pretty Much Mother Nature!

My husband and I also discussed on why they have chickens and the only conclusion we could come to was fertilizer? As for the animation, you get the idea that this whole film was a portfolio that Pixar slapped together to showcase their amazing new technology to potential new buyers. "and we'll start the bidding at..."

I had a geoscience module last semester and actually, there's a theory that the dinosaurs were almost extinct before the meteor happened. Because there are very little dinosaurs in the fossil record. So maybe they were extinct even before or the meteor just gave them the final punch to wipe them out.

I actually loved this movie but mostly because the animation was beautiful.

I love this movie! It is charming, a bit dark, and it's scenery is beautiful! I would even go as far as to say it's my favourite Pixar movie. If you don't agree then you do whatever but I don't care 😂😂😂

I think the reason I loved this movie is because it's lion king but it actually gives you good feels. I like movies that have good morals and movies that can tell a story and display emotion well with little dialog. The lion king I loved because of the incredible animation and music. This movie I loved because it has better emotion and morals and connecting with characters.

I only watched this movie once in theaters, but seeing this I'm shocked at the stuff I forgot happened. Spot ripped off a giant bug's head, a dino straight up chomped a whole animal the melting of the dad dino is creepy, Arlo kills a bunch of dinos, they trip on the bad berries. Like omg 💀😂

I think the Primate acting like the Canis species makes a bit of sense , because when the dinosaurs died of the KT extinction about 66 million years ago, and the absence of dinosaurs let mammals evolve and grow because they weren't being hunted by them all the time. Even if every single mammal evolving and not having a problem with dinosaurs, when the first true "humans" came around it was around 2.5 million years ago because they were called the handy-man for making the first stone tools. Since the dinosaurs were around primate might have paired with the Canis species to survive in this universe. So there might be a reason they did this because primates might have evolved with the Canis species copying there hunting style in packs and howling to call others in the pack. So it kind of makes sense that they act like that, but humans by then should have been in the stone age and maybe shaping copper into tools. I will even say that they might have done some smelting of metals. So the primates of this movie should have a fair chance of fighting back the dinosaurs, even humans hunting mammoths were able to trap them by making mammoths fall off cliffs or shoving spears in the ground that they would fall into with there own weight. Anyways I called them primates because "Humans" are basically primates who change the environment around them to help themselves, and express abstract ideas. If someone read all of this, you are very patient and kind.

Now that I think about it the chickens are probably there for their poop to make fertilizer
