Yes!! I was literally so annoyed that Percy and Annabeth just acted like they were ok in Blood of Olympus. They 100% had trauma and we never got see it. I at least wanted a POV of them comforting each other.

what really bothered me was that how annabeth and percy were PERFECTLY FINE after coming back from tartarus. ur telling me they were ok and happy enough to make jokes about pancakes??? they got nothing in blood of olympus and percy was just done DIRTY. he’s such a powerful halfblood and got nothing. also i totally agree that jason and piper were rushed. (i also think leo and calypso was out of NOWHERE)

I agree with most of these. I never understood why most people had to be paired off. To be fair, I was 11 when I read it for the first time, and I was oblivious to the fact that I was aro/ace, and oblivious to romance in general. I literally thought Leo was gonna go right back after getting Calypso, so my surprise when I started Trials of Apollo about 6 months later (I read it in late 2015, and Trials of Apollo came out mid-2016) that it had been months. I read for platonic relationships, not romantic ones. Leo and Annabeth really could've been such good friends. They're both extremely smart, and they could use their combine geniusness. Leo's smartness goes unnoticed by the fandom too, which is something that should be mentioned more.

i agree sm with percy being out of character!! re reading the series i was so confused when percy got super mad at leo? i understand being upset bc he attacked, but i feel like percy would have suspected a god or even a monster messing with them considering he just got kidnapped by hera and he’s always getting messed with?? it just surprised me when he immediately got as mad as he did

It actually kinda annoys me how like 30 campers and the hunters defended Olympus by them selfs defeated thousands of monsters and literal titans and the Romans were just like we took down a mountain like they could have won the war if the Romans did nothing and the god and campers would go and destroy the mountain together but without the Greeks Olympus would fall and the Romans and Greeks would die therefor the Greeks had a bigger part to play and Romans kinda added nothing to the war in tlo

I think Annabeth didn't take the webs off her legs because of her fatal flaw. Her fatal flaw is pride and she was to proud to think that the webs might be connected to Arachne. Just a thought tho

There are mainly two things I'm really, really mad about. tl;dr: 1) me imagining a character for Jason Grace & 2) me complaining about the end fight 1) Jason Grace. He has almost no character in the books except for "haha look at me I'm a discount Percy" but he had so much potential! Like come on, the guy was raised by wolves since he was two years old (and before that by his awesome older sister). How much of his childhood did he spent with Lupa? Because if I remember correctly, Lupa and her pack train roman half bloods and decides wether they are worthy to go to Camp Jupiter. You can't tell me that he didn't spent at least five years with her (that would make him seven and even that is a stretch). How long did it take for him to readjust to human life? Did he ever wonder why the girl with the blue eyes wasn’t coming to him when he cried at night? Why his mum never came back? When did he call Lupa his mum for the first time? When he came to Camp Jupiter, how many nights did he cry for Lupa? Did he ever dream of a girl with electric blue eyes and wondered who she was? (Great, now I have made myself sad.) Also, because he is the son of Jupiter, everybody expected him to be a leader and praetor and the boy with all the answers. I feel like everyone had very high expectations of Jason (his dad is literally the king of the gods and they named their camp after him), failure was never an option for him. It could have been an interesting spin of his character if he was pressured by literally every person about him into being a figurehead and secretly hating the constant attention that brought it. We get to hear all these hero worship stories about Jason in the Son of Neptune and from what I remember he seemed like an extremely unapproachable person. Not because he was unlikeable or mean or anything, but because everybody worshipped the ground he walked on. That had to be an extremely lonely life. I would have loved to see Jason struggle with mental health issues, like loneliness despite being surrounded by people, burn-out symptoms, having to deal with people in the senate who hate him just because of his parentage, constantly doubting himself („Why can't I be what everybody wants me to be? What is wrong with me?“). When Hera did her ding-dong-ditch with Jason and Percy and their wiped memories, that would have been the best thing happening to Jason. He knew nothing about himself or what people wanted him to be, so he could have freely explored him. In probably the first time in his life he wouldn't have to live a secret life. (I also would have loved more Thalia-Jason bonding, mainly because I love Thalia and absolutely would give my life for her, but also because she is unapologetic about who she is, how she dresses, how she lives her life, generally not giving a shit about other people opinions of her. She would have been an important part in Jasons self-discovery. She would have gotten to see Jason grow up into his own person before her eyes as it should have been if Hera hadn't decided that destroying families was her favourite hobby.) His faked relationship with Piper should have become platonic. He would have realised that having a girlfriend was basically just another thing other people pressured him into. (There is a reason why there are two different goddesses for love and marriage. Love doesn’t equal marriage and marriage doesn’t equal love.) I would have loved some Jason & Annabeth bonding over exchanging embarrassing stories about Thalia (because we all know Thalia basically adopted Annabeth). I would have some Jason & Piper bonding and building a real friendship this time and them and Annabeth being leaders of the „We hate Hera“ club. I would have loved Jason & Leo bonding over similar issues like struggling to accept themselves, being separated from others (Jason because of his dad and Leo because of his fire powers) and them being supportive of each other. I would have loved Jason bonding with the new campers because even if the tattoo on his arm says that he has been a demigod for years, he can’t remember it and is basically a newbie. And in Camp Half-Blood he isn’t that unapproachable figure, he is just an older camper that has the same questions about the half blood lifestyle as they have. And then the Seven met and he had to confront the hero stories told by Frank and Hazel. Him remembering the old Jason and seeing how much he changed and realising how far he had come in self-love. Then he comes back to Camp Jupiter and it’s like another life because the Romans expect and want the old Jason back but he can’t be that empty shell of a person again because only now he realises how much that destroyed him. But it is ingrained into him to never want to disappoint people, so he tries to find a compromise, to be a mix of the old and the new Jason. Because he can’t let Frank and Hazel, his only fellow Romans down. He can’t let them think that their idol is nothing like they wanted him to. And on this basis his canon „character development“ would make more sense. Jason finally realising that despite him being a Roman half blood, he doesn’t fit into their expectation of him. That he likes being Greek and the freedom it gives him. That it isn’t bad to not fulfil other peoples expectations and Frank and Hazel still liking him (maybe even liking him better than before because now he is relatable). Just give me happy Jason. (And if he absolutely had to die, it would explain why Jupiter didn’t save him. While Zeus was wild and appreciated his daughter finding her own way, Jupiter was strict and very compliant to rules. Jason defied his rules and thus wasn’t worth saving him.) 2) The final battle against Gaia has to be a joke. In PJO, the final boss fight against Kronos takes a whole book and the final fight in HOO is like two pages? Gaia should have been a way more intimidating figure and her motivation was just being evil for the sake of being evil? I saw a post on tumblr where it basically said that Gaia could have been a better metaphor for ecoterrorism, climate change, pollution etc. Gaia seeking revenge for herself when she finds out that a species tries to effectively kill her. The Seven defeating Gaia but asking themselves if that was the right decision. Them making the decision to form a council to hold the gods accountable for their treatment of others because they clearly don’t manage it on their own. Percy and Annabeth are advocating for better parenting (because Percy had asked it before and they did only the bare minimum, clearly they need some „Parenting 101“ courses). Jason wants to honour all the gods and is advocating for accepting the minor gods. He is teaming up with Leo on the construction of temples for Camp Jupiter and cabins for Camp Half Blood. Piper is establishing a line of connection between the two Camps, Olympus, Lupa, the Amazons and the Hunters, because the no communication rule has done more harm than good. Hazel is working on locating unclaimed half bloods, informing their parent and themselves about the half blood life, occasionally removing the kids from abusive parents or unsafe environments. Frank being praetor and trying to change the stiffness of Camp Jupiter to create a more accepting half blood society, so that no one has to ever feel like they don’t belong. Someone calculated the Frazel age difference, and it's less than 2 years. When Hazel died she was 13 1/2 (her birthday is in the winter and she died the summer after she turned 13). When we are first introduced to her she's been back in the mortal world for about 9 months making her 14 and 3 months. In Son Of Neptune Frank had turned 16 a few days prior to when the book starts.

Percy is out of character but you have to remember that he has no memories at this point so he is probably confused and doesn’t remember some things that shape his personality and it’s also been almost a year since we last saw him

Idk if we're doing this but here is my unpopular opinion :) I don't think this is much of a big deal but the godly parents of the seven. Like, i would have literally killed to have a child of hermes in there. idek why. it would kinda help with the luke thing and maybe they could, you know talk with annabeth ab luke or smth. But generally, i think the hermes kids in pjo and hoo made the best minor characters and i would have loved to see more. Not just Hermes tho, like children of much lesser known but still important gods. Like hebe, tyche, nemisis, or nike. I feel that way there would be lots more contast and for example a child of nemisis would have shown the importance of balance in the world, or a child of hebe would find her/his true value despite not having any actual powers. This isn't much of a big deal but i think it would be really nice.

I feel like Heroes of Olympus makes Percy Jackson worse in a way. In Percy Jackson they build up Kronos to be the ultimate threat but then in Heroes of Olympus, they be like, “No no no!!! Gia be the big bad! She be the number 1 threat!!!” I also don’t like how the Heroes gives all the characters special super showers. In Percy Jackson, all the halfbloods just inherited traits from their godly parents (other than children of the big 3, which makes sense because they’re children of the most powerful gods) but in heroes of Olympus, everyone has super magic powers. One last thing that annoys me is that Percy and and camp halfblood defending the Titans on their own was very powerful but No No No they had help from camp Jupiter!!! This series really makes me mad.

I thought Leo would be the one character who would stay single but NOOOOoOoOoOoOo he had to get a love interest and we need male-female friendships that last more than one book!

I feel Leo was supposed to die but ended being such a fan favorite that Rick (or his editor) felt that they had to keep him.

I love Leo as a character but I feel like he should have stayed dead because his death really hit me (despite knowing that he would return). Also I hate how he just picks up Calypso instead of informing his best friends. And yes, I agree about the romantic ships. It's also rather unrealistic to have everyone in a relationship especially with each other (like six out of the seven are literally couples).

I know that Percy and Annabeth are not the "main" characters but they are part of the "main 7". I think Rick tried to put them out of the spotlight but instead he just kicked them out of the play.

I really love that you pointed out characters like Percy feel out of character. There are a lot of forced moments in this series and it definitely was for plot convenience it feels like more than anything. I’ve only read the series once because of how disappointed I was at the end of it. I never realized that Hazel was that young when Frank liked her. I feel it’s not a bad series, though there are so many side plots that it makes the story a little hard to follow at the end. I mean, the Reyna chapters could never have been there and no one would’ve cared. The fact Riordan doesn’t give Percy or Annabeth (arguably the most loved characters in the whole series) more chapters in BoO is another reason I didn’t like the final book. The ending is terrible in my opinion, a travesty if anything. He built Gaea up so much just for her to be taken down in a pretty lame manner. Also, Piper’s character definitely suffered the most from there being 7 main characters since she feels irrelevant after book 1. I feel this series is something people wanted in concept, but the way Riordan went about writing it was almost overly ambitious. Forced scenes that make characters not feel the same and plot convinces (tbf every book has those). Every time I try rereading this series I get past the Lost Hero and then never finish the Son of Neptune bc all I want to do is read Percy and struggle caring about anyone else. I feel that book would’ve worked better if Frank was simply never a character and it was just Hazel and Percy working together. Just my thoughts, but this book probably suffers from the over abundance of characters in it. Plus I always never liked that Grover and Thalia phase out of this series even tho they were important in Percy Jackson

Which yknow lead to well, a major problem LOL One of the biggest problems I personally have with the series is the lack of platonic relationships and the overload of romantic ones. It would've been way better if we got to see more Leo/Percy, Leo/Annabeth, Hazel/Percy, Frank/Annabeth, Piper/Frank, Jason/Frank, etc. And maybe have Hazel and Frank's develop over the series if anything (I like Frazel but the whole age difference thing throws me off) Also love the video and I agree with the majority of these points!

I just think the entire structure of these books is weird. It's no wonder reading The Lost Hero is annoying to read. I think swapping the placement of The Lost Hero and Son of Neptune then adding changes to each accordingly to fit this would make a lot more sense. The series was advertised as a PJO sequel series, and the first book doesn't have the main protagonist at all. Plus, starting with the Romans would be so mysterious and weird compared to what we already knew from PJO, but thanks to The Lost Hero, we already know that there's a Roman camp and where Percy is and what happened to him. Son of Neptune should have been the beginning.

TLH was really hard to read because I honestly just despised the main characters, Piper annoyed the hell out of me, Jason was bland af, and Leo's entire personality was I want a gf

i find that this series was kimda messy but the blood of olympus... god THAT IS A BIG MESS. 1. time jumps that literally made no sense. they moved into other scenes that had zero add up to the story and leave with cliffhangers that never get to be cleared up. and i hated it because we lost several things that might have added so much. -the lack of character development here is soooo?? the entire book was focused on piper, leo and jason and it's so weird that jason got stabbed and we don't get to see how he is living with that until page 200 when he is suddenly cured becsuse he is willing to keep a promise? piper was suddenly super important and strong when she didn't have any development during the series. she kinda did but not to this point. she is super strong so why do we only see that in the last book and out of the sudden? and leo... mf leo i love hi. but he was too annoying in this book... from being obsessed with calipso to basically not giving a sht about his friends... it was too much for me. frank and hazel barely hsve any osrticipation here other than helping leo piper and jason from time to time and that's it... -the lack of percabeth, AND I CAN'T NOT STRESS ENOUGH, was just... they were out of character for four books and then rick just... it seems like he stopped caring about them tbh. i know some people don't like annabeth amd i guess i kinda understand that, but she is overall a great constructed, developed, strong and smart character who deserved more. and percy? he is super strong and smsrt too. all they did in this book was paint him as the silly character again and it's annoying!! the deserved to have an arch where they talked things through. a lotbof things happened in the tartarus and they should hsve been traumatized! we didn't get to see individual / couple reflection, just a weird situation where annabeth tells piper she is scared of percy. then s few days after we know they spent the day at an european city by their own, which could have been a great opportunity to talk, because leo mentions it. sick. -leo obssesion with calipso... i just can't stop thinking how absurd it is!! and the way he got mad at percy (yes, i protecg oercy a lot because he deserved so much more than this) because he didn't make sure calipso was out of the island. YES he should have. aybe confirmed but he can't do everything? he fought a battle against cronos and saved the world, six months later (i think?) he is basically kidnapped and lost his memories for six months, he is sent to a mission, comes back and then has to go to another mission. he falls into the tartarus... brorelax he's had it rough too.. -also about the absurd situations.. the way gaia wakes up??? are tou serious? -leo and percy could have been s great duo -i hate fake deths :/ -piper saying that she annsbeth amd hszel sre besties when she's barely interected with hazel... it is soo weird -i just wish there would have been more pov other thst leo, piper and jason's. jason didn't even hsve as many. most of them were piper's -i just don't really like piper's character and though sje wss so mucj better as a character i this book i still feel nothing towards her because all we saw in the previous ones was rant about jason

I think when annabeth called for Percy's help in Mark of Athena, it was just another moment dedicated to showing how OP Percy is, cause everyone luvs Percy. But I do agree that a character like Hazel is quite underrated and deserves more to prove themself

I passionately agree with some of these, some I have some different opinions on or have a reason to "defend" the choices, and I have a completely unpopular opinion. The one I completely agree on is why doesn't Leo get an actual arc instead of a romantic one. Like I fell like there was so much build up for a very low point then he can get better from there. I just felt robed of one of my favorite things is any book or movie or show. ✨the breakdown✨. I just thought he had such a heartbreaking build up that emidietly goes away when he meets Calypso. And also I'm glad I'm not the only one who was super weirded out by the Frazle age gap. And Piper in 'the lost hero' is the litteral definitionof "the not like the other girls" girl. But the one I have to defend for is another one about leo. The reason he was so mean to Frank was explained, and it tied into he backstory growing up as and orphan in tough neighborhoods. He was scared of Frank. And when you see it from Frank's pov it just looks like Leo is being mean for no reason. But in (I think, I can't quite be sure) the 6th chapter of 'the lost hero' it states that Leo actually used humor as a defense mechanism so he wouldn't get teased or beat up. And my unpopular opinion is (drum roll please) I dont really like Annabeth. And I kinda feel like Percy is too good for her, but I still ship it because they make eachother happy. And I can tell that you really like Annabeth and stuff but I just don't really like her (I have a reason tho). And I just feel like I should mention somthing. I love Leo, and Frank. So far I've only seen people who like Frank but don't rly like Leo, or people who like Leo but don't rly like Frank. But I love both of them but don't rly like Hazel. Hazel is the reason Frank became kinda jealous of Leo. And I find it kind funny how she was trying to clear the air and show Leo who Sammy was, but all she did was make things awkward. So moral of the story: Frank is good and Leo is good but Hazel is kinda the worst. Oh ya, also the fandom dislikes Frank for getting jealous when Hazel started hanging out with Leo, even though Annabeth litteraly does the same thing, but at least Rachel didn't make fun of her and they wernt even in an actualrelationship. There's so, soooo much about this series that rubs me the wrong way, and I'm glad someone put it to words, lol. Something that always bothered me from the get-go was that it felt like Percy's efforts in the first series were basically for nothing/invalidated, aside from things at camp. Like... Calypso, for example. She was supposed to be freed by the gods, right? But the fact that she wasn't made Percy look bad because I guess it was convenient for Leo? Highly unpopular opinion, but I HATED Leo. He was annoying but meh to me initially, but as the series went on, I had to force myself through his chapters. I couldn't finish the 2nd Trials of Apollo book, partially because of him. (The other part was Apollo himself... I personally think he's a slog of a protagonist to read. I've heard things get better though, so I suppose I'll try again sometime.) But back to HOO... the whole series also had such a bad pacing problem, from romance to powers. I think a huge part of it for me was that this series took place over, what, a year and a few months? Whereas the original series took place over nearly five years. Like, it'd be understandable if Rick didn't want to drag it out that long again with so many characters to deal with this time, but... Some extra time to develop relationships--both romantic AND platonic--as well as the seven getting to practice their abilities would go SUCH a long way. Give them an extra year at least to bond and learn stuff. For Gaia to slowly build up as a threat. For Percy to reunite with his mom, dang it. I also think Nico should have been one of the seven. I like Hazel fine, but I really think Nico deserved to be... more important, you know? I totally agree that Rick has an issue with pairing characters off. Pleasantly surprised to be spoiled over Reyna being ace, but it feels a bit hollow knowing how she fell for Jason and Percy so fast. I guess she's a romantic ace. Sigh. All I want is for good aro/ace rep, aside from Artemis. I want a MAIN character that's ace, Rick! Not gonna lie, I thought we were going to get that with Magnus. Romance seemed so genuinely unimportant to that character, that it completely threw me when he got paired off. Though that pair broke some boundaries on its own, so I can't complain too much, I suppose. I'm happy for the people who got rep there. But it felt shoehorned in to me. Another major problem I have with the whole Riordanverse is... how he inserts random pop-culture references to be relevant with The Kids. He gave an excuse to not have cellphones and other technology, so why ruin the timelessness of the series by remarking something about Supernatural or whatever TV show or band or actor is relevant the year each book comes out? Like, I've been re-reading the original series, and the references there very much make them feel dated. As someone who near-literally grew up alongside Percy (I was basically the same age he was when each book came out; I was in 6th grade for the first, 7th for the second, etc.), it was kind of cool at the time, but now it just takes away from the immersion, considering how muddled the Riordanverse timeline has become. Despite all this, I still enjoy the books, for the most part (sorry ToA... I'll give you another shot sometime, I promise). And hey, if worst comes to worst, there's always fanfiction. But I am glad to see more and more people are into the books than ever. My middle school self would be ecstatic to know she wasn't the only one obsessing over it all. I still have my battered copy of the first book that I got from the Schoolastic book fair, if that tells you anything. The series is well loved on my shelf. But we can all definitely still love something while accepting its flaws and hoping for improvement.

Very interesting video idea! Agree on pretty much everything! To Frank and Hazels relationship: In 6th of 7th grade, one of my classmates was 12y and had a 17y boyfriend. i really agree with you on the whole 'Hazel is underused" thing, and also that pepper is one of the most powerful ones, that's why I love it so much when we learn that Hazel is teaching Pipper how to use a sword in combat, I think that their friendship and even their friendships with Annabeth are really overlooked like we know that pipper and Annabeth became good friends, we never really heard anything more than a couple scenes in BoO. Also, I think the reason Percy was so out of character in SoN is because he doesn't remember anything at all, and his friends, his family, camp, and everything he's been through is a huge part of who he is, and you can kind of feel that, idk if it was intentional, but that's how his povs felt to me... tho he and Annabeth felt really out of character to me too in the moa, funny story, I read HoO before the original series bc my brother refused to let me borrow his pjo books, and I loved in the beginning, but after reading pjo , I reread it a couple of times, and, even tho i still love HoO a lot, bc that's how i entered the fandom, i feel until they were thrown into Tartarus, they were kinda out of character, like Annabeth ignoring everyone in MoA felt really weird too me like i get that she has he quest and all, but it felt like something was off... I'm pretty sure hazel stopped having the flashbacks bc she "finished" them meaning they came to a full circle cause she went back to the point where Nico brought her back from the dead. i like that calypso and Leo "break up" in ToA, even tho i think they are really cute, but the fact that Leo isn't completely broken and all after that shows that he doesn't really need someone else, and to me, that's when his character arc came to an end when he was able to accept himself w/ out having to have someone to "complete" him AND YES, I've seen so many headcanons of Percy and Leo been the most chaotic duo, like Weasley brothers energy, and I am so here for it! sorry, i didn't mean for this to be this long, i just have a ton of opinions on these books I've never shared bc idk why but this fandom kinda scares me sometimes...

Yes! Thank you! The “not like other girls” narrative is so damaging. I absolutely love this series, definitely one of my favorites from him, but definitely agree there are some flaws. Percy really felt out of character, almost like Rick was warming back up and had to get used to writing about him all over again. Other than the things you mentioned though, I love this series, especially how Rick and his writing style aged with his audience. I reread the OG PJ series a couple times and it was hard because I forgot how much of a younger writing style it had!

lol this video encapsulates my thoughts perfectly. i simultaneously like the characters introduced in HoO and wish they got better treatment in the writing, but I also wish the whole thing never existed because it just makes zero sense from either a logical standpoint of worldbuilding or a writing standpoint of character development. the original series ended on a really cathartic note, showing how Percy ended up stopping Kronos but also demanded that the gods change their behavior and all but said that Luke was right. even if having a separate camp with the gods’ “Roman aspects” doesn’t undercut the importance of camp half blood and the titan war, the way it was written as this supposedly better version with its own city of adult demigods that nevertheless expects kids to fight their battles is just bizarre. Percy and Annabeth should’ve been way more conscious of Luke with his shadow (and those of the other campers who died) hanging over everything they do, but instead they’re just flanderized versions of themselves meant to stir up nostalgia rather than have meaningful character arcs. speaking of character arcs, Jason is a character with a lot of great fanon interpretations that I love, but you’re so right that his origin story is just a soap opera on steroids, and his importance to the story after TLH is nearly nonexistent. not to mention the fact that he so often overshadows Thalia in the fandom despite her being a more interesting character in terms of what’s actually in the books. overall it’s still a decent series but I’d have to seriously set aside logic if I ever read it again.

I was really hoping someone would stay single. Like Rick my guy my man I know you were probably a chad in high school but some of us are awkward and ugly dude, please let us have a character. I really want an adult take on the Riordanverse. Like dark ass shit, maybe have the chacters in their late twenties, or even older. Gore, mental problems, trauma, swear words. All like in this awesome universe.

I don't know if this comment will be read by the presenter - but the argument this video develops, in the manner that it manages to do it, touches perfection in certain points. Really, it is hard to come upon something apparently simplisticly orchestrated, but passionate, and executes the skill to keep its direction. My problem with heroes of Olympus is jason grace character development the series never really fleshed him out and properly explored him though he is my favourite character and he has a very great potential to be the best fictional characters to exist but he was just dumped in the books following lost hero and it saddens me to see that his potential is not being properly recognised

Hey!, Yeah, about the Percabeth chapters in the blood of Olympus, Rick mentions that he left them out because the whole plot at the end about Percy's fatal flaw, to make him step out a bit and let the others take charge was 1 reason and he knew as fans we would focus more on Percy and Annabeth (since they're great) and he wanted the others to be there too. Also, you know he started the book with Jason, Piper, and Leo and he wanted to end it with them. I do agree with you about House of Hades that it didn't seem like Percy and Annabeth went through that much. The rest are details I hardly noticed but now that you mention them, I must say, you have "Opened" my eyes. That one moment in the blood of Olympus before the Nike capturing thing? Leo and Percy were talking, Leo threw a pebble in the water and I don't remember exactly but why did Percy call the pebble back from the river? Leo said it was like show off but Percy does NOT do that! I didn't get that scene and I don't get it to this date! You know I've thought it would be cool to see Jason's point of view in camp Jupiter before all this HoO like how we saw the "adventures" (quests?) of Percy. We know about a few of Jason's accomplishments in the Lost Hero so, I thought it would be cool to see his adventures and all like, how we saw Percy's. But that's just my opinion. Okay so I scrolled the comments a bit, and did nobody notice how out of character Annabeth was at the beginning. Like, when she reunited with Percy and was so giddy and lovey-dovey, which she isn’t really ever, I feel like Percabeth would be even better if they had a cute reunion and she totally would’ve judo flipped him, but it would’ve been more like their relationship to have more of a friendly relationship and Annabeth would’ve like, held back more romantically, but they would still have a super cute relationship if that makes sense. It just feels like once they started dating they went from 0-100 wayyy to fast for them. Congrats if you made it this far lol.

I never read the original PJO series, so my first introduction was the Hero of Olympus series. So, my opinion will be completely invalid. But Annabeth and Percy coming back from Tartarus like nothing happened felt kinda weird.

I personally didn’t enjoy Heroes of Olympus at all, except for the son of Neptune and that’s because my heart ached every time Percy struggled with his memories. You can’t name a series on a character and not have him as the main character. I get introducing new characters but man Heroes of Olympus it was like it was written by a completely different writer. The first 5 Percy Jackson books were amazing. Story driven books, with amazing characters, intensity, drama, action love subplots and slowly building one of the greatest ships (pun intended). And then Percy Jackson hero of Olympus defender of earth and the first half blood to reject immortality and bring balance by making the gods pay child support is reduced to what? A side character? Nope. Unnacceptable

I think the main reason I hated this books was because it wasnt in Percy POV. Like uncle Rick didn't use "I.. ". (you get it?) Because the books in Percy POV make me feel like I'm reading a diary of Percy. Also there was barely any Sally in their

Also BoO was alright I guess in terms of percabeth, they just needed 4 chapters (of Annabeth maybe) after polyblotes incident to sort out the poison incident,in which we also would have got to know what Tartarus did to them..... Frazel on the other hand was completely ignored in BoO.(I guess people don't complain much about them coz they were never really in the spotlight and aren't the OGs).....

I wished Rick ended the Percy Jackson series. Heroes of Olympus was a total Trainwreck, Jason is bland...He has no development. Piper is so weak. She doesn't even matter to the plot. I felt Annabeth and Piper could have made better enemies than friends. Hazel is too young. Yet so powerful. Frank, he's just a big teddy bear. ok maybe Leo was funny, I nearly died of laughter at the Echo episode. They should've held Gaea back until...I dunno...THE END!?? Just like Kronos, he's fantastic. and Nico gets his development. Cool, yeah but the part about him being in love with Percy Jackson threw me off. Why was that important? I mean he hated Percy Jackson because he didn't save Bianca at the Hephaestus's Junkyard. We did not have instances of how that attraction came to be so ew. The Lost Hero is unnecessary. Which is much I could say for the rest of the book series... Percy's stupid for thinking he's not amazing. Oh I'm weak and useless boo hoo. He was out of character, I don't like the way Annabeth treats him eg The Judo flip or whatever they call it. She makes it look like it's his fault he had gone missing. NO GROVER, NO GROVER!??
