@@pdr5926 Risk is borne of ignorance, what you see in videos doesn't necessarily represent all of reality. nobody wants to lose body parts it's the precautions we take that prevent that from happening, everybody hates the safety team except the person falling from a high ladder and breaks his hip or someone that has his foot crushed under a heavy weight because he isn't wearing safety boots. wearing flip flops while working in an industrial area is downright stupid. breathing lead and sulfuric acid fumes with no protection and getting cancer is stupid. becoming partially blind because of a flying wire wheel bristle getting into your eye when you aren't wearing goggles is stupid yet all of these things continue to happen. there is a price to pay even if not everyone pays it.

@@shayson1357 You are right in all you said, but western safety standards simply do not apply here, just because the overall conditions do not allow for them. The needs, the tools, and the environment set its own rules. I am sure they do know how to avoid injuries way better than a regular worker from a western country performing his job under a strict safety protocol.

@@jktechnology786 So everyone praising their shoddy work is fine, that is sycophantic. I spent my life as a mechanical engineer, working positively. If they can't check what material they use and making really atrocious unsafe items, will you still say I judged them harshly when they maim or kill someone ? Many of the things I helped make and tested were man carrying devices, emergency mine lifts, window cleaner cradles, etc one bad piece can be disastrous. I suggest you don't judge others just because they might hurt someone's feelings, better that than to harm innocent people.

There is another group of hard-working guys keeping one or more gas or diesel generators working somewhere nearby, selling electricity through a hodge-podge of un-regulated overhead wiring. These people are the ones I want in my community if an apocolypse happens - they make do with or without gloves or safety shoes or hardhats or safety glasses. Of course, this would be a lot more difficult without the steel mill providing raw material, the Toyota pickup for deliveries, the welding apparatus and welding rods and mask, the massive bending rollers, or the economy that says this is a good job, better work to keep it, just watch your feet. Looking at the shoes seen here I can understand why these people remove their shoes before coming inside or taking prayers, a habit they retain even if working for white-collar pay in the US. Also why hitting a person with shoes is a nasty insult.
