I think I know what happened with the bridge. The bridge had the "ding ding ding" meaning it was about to raise. Since Claude was in the way, the car sink through the asphalt, since NPCs are not supposed to behave like this. They're supposed to wait and then wait for the bridge to retract.

I think GTA 5 has by far the best traffic logic. When it comes to getting of the way for emergency vehicles, you say they don't try as hard as in previous games, but in reality they're acting like a real driver would, they try to get out the way but keeping themselves on the road

They run you over on purpose, get scared for honking at them, are aggressive and pull you outta your car. I don't know how realistic that is😅 And it has been prooven that they hit your car on purpose, since they are programmed that way

I remember playing vice city and 4 and being able to drive properly on traffic. You could stop at red lights and people would wait behind you, but in 5, people behind you honk and just try to drive around you aggressively. They're a bit crazy, so I feel 4 has the best traffic in that regard. 😅

Programming NPC AI for 'general purpose' use is difficult. And that too there are dozens of them. Computers can't just keep simulating their thought processes, there's a whole other world to simulate. They do a good job at simulating herd behaviour though.

In Vice City, if you gave enough side, they would likely to evade you, I was using this technique often for a taxi's side mission, plus its very stable on road, I cloud do slalom evading two cars simultaneously without trouble.

Just waiting for a bus that doesn't have anyone in it? and one guy ramming into something killing himself and the passenger? While yes gta5 they just ram into the bus, but they at least try to try to get out of the traffic rather than waiting for hours. Both don't really have common sense.

The fact that in Vice city NPCs will try to get abandoned vehicle out of the road is pretty cool! If R* is planning GTA 6 they should ad this aspect back.
