Appearing on the frontiers of the Eastern Roman Empire in the Early Middle Ages, the Slavs quickly extended their cultural footprint over much of Eastern Europe, thanks to a new, unique and incredibly inclusive social model.
But where and when was the Slavic culture born?
To answer this question, which is far from trivial, we need to follow back the history of a people whose process of self-determination lasted almost a millennium, and which perhaps precisely because of its particularly troubled ethnogenesis will be able to offer a social and expansion model in some ways antithetical to that of other European realities.
