around 50:00 when the Spider queen was testing her new champion, I was expecting the DM to say (of failed test) "They slowly warp into hideous creatures with no style"

Nope, not Lolth's style. Lolth prefers to strip her pact makers' of their sense of self and leave them as mindless drones that only follow her commands. It's a good thing they ended where they did, cause if Opal thought having the Circlet of Barbed Visions stuck on her head was bad, then her patron relationship with Lolth is going to make Fjord - Uk'otoa's look harmless by comparison. As the boons keep going, Opal is going to lose more of herself (say bye-bye to quirky, upbeat Opal who loves her sister cause Lolth will rip all that away from her, especially Ted since Ted would act as a barrier to Opal's heart).
