Considering that he nearly lost his lightsaber duels with Mace Windu and Yoda, I wouldn't say that he was *that* powerful. Although Clone Wars, Rebels and RoS retcon him to make him more wizardly, or even godlike. But in the OT and PT, he was more of a sleazy manipulator who didn't defeat the Jedi through his awesome Force powers, but rather through well-planned politicking and shady backroom dealings.

Exar Khun dominated the mandalorians and used the mandalorian army for himself. His actions lead to the mandalorian war and ultimately the Ravens rise. Leading to a series of events such as kotor 1 and 2. I believe he is really underrated as a sith lord.

The only reason he failed to absorb all the force from Yavin was because a coalition of Republic and Imperial forces stopped Revan from fully resurrecting the Emperor and he instead had to relied on all of the deaths caused between the Revanites and the coalition.

Revan spent most of his time either learning or re-learning Jedi & sith tricks due to mind wipes & changing his mind. There’s only a few windows where he was as OP as people often credit him as being all the time. A lot of the strongest sith & Jedis never strayed in their direction so he would of often been at a disadvantage. Someone like exar would have him beat before it even began whenever he was a Padawan, re-learning or just turning. There were times when even someone of half decent strength like Nihilus or Malak could have took him at their prime 🤷🏼‍♂️ Full strength exar vs full strength revan would’ve been a very close fight though.

Doesn't Luke manage to beat Emperor Palpatine Reborn using only his own power while Palpatine is being amped by a Planet Wide Dark Nexus in Dark Empire? Correct me if I'm wrong at any point, but the ability that Leia uses to help Luke is Force Harmony which only protects the target from Dark Side corruption, meaning that Luke beat Dark Empire Palpatine with his own power. So I wouldn't say Exar Kun is more powerful than Luke Skywalker at every point in time, but he is definitely stronger than GM Luke when he encounters him.
