Boris FX Optics 2022 adds improved alpha support for working in Adobe Photoshop. In this tutorial, Ben Brownlee takes you through some of the more common workflows for dealing with layer masks and alpha channels.
In the first section we look at how to take an EZ Mask out of Optics and work with it further in Photoshop. The second section shows how to take layer masks from Photoshop, work further on them in Optics, and take them back out to Photoshop. The third section is all about adding Optics to text layers, and how some effects generate their own alpha channel. Finally, we see how to render from Optics without alpha, for those times when you want to complete the composite in Photoshop.
