We’ll cover a range of filters in Optics: S_Zap, Day for Night, Curves, S_LensFlare, S_NightSky, Film Stocks and S_Vignette. At the end of the tutorial, I also show you how to integrate Optics lightning into your Photoshop compositing workflow.

Hello. Whenever I get to the lightning bolt part, Optics crashes every time! As a standalone and as a plug in. I am using Windows 10 and an Intel HD graphics card. It is an HP laptop. What can I do? Thank you.

I have the newest photoshop and I not sure how to add the optic filer to photoshop, I did grad it to my plug ins. Which says plugins then generator that is where I put it. Opened photoshop back up and nothing is there. I would like to purchase the optics program but I need to see how it works first? Any help would be great...

hey i am still kind of new to photoshop and i have this problem thats been driving me insane in my gradient tool editor there is no transparent option at all like i cant really fade images out can someone PLEASE help me

In the gradient editor, there is a color point at the bottom of the gradient that indicates color. On top of that, there is another point. That point edits the transparency. You can add points for color and separately add points for transparency.

How can i render transparent fx? I mean just lightning fx with transparent background

There is no way to do this right now. You can render your layer and then render a mask separately, but this will only work for certain effects. For light effects, however, you can render them on a black background and then use the screen blending mode to turn the black transparent.

There is one problem with this, it being that when a judge asks for the images that have been used and it is discovered that one or more are NOT from my own work I would be BANNED from all competitions run by them and possibly even worldwide.

not true on the CREATIVE sections; the main photos yes, need to bee your own, but digital image effects like lightning (or other lights) are ACCEPTED
