When I have planted I push plastic cups around the plants until the stocks get larger that the worms cant warp themselves around them.

Your garden is beautiful! You mentioned cutworms... now I am wondering if that was what ate our strawberry leaves! How did you know where to dig them up? I love how Esther is so natural with plants and yes, she is a pro in seperating the tomato roots! We follow the Square Foot Mel mix in our garden beds as well, that went way back when we lived in CA by TO. The weather in the east coast is much easier to grow things, for sure. You have been on YT for a while! I remember Caleb was much younger when we first watched your channel! Our boy loved how much the brothers seemed to have so much fun walking on the fences and singing "going on the dirt hunt, looking for the good stuff...!" I have always appreciated your gentle spirit! I will keep your family in our prayer, asking the Lord to continue guiding and providing for your family! Have a blessed weekend! Can't wait to see what Caleb is helping you with, next week!

We just dug around the plants that were freshly cut off with our fingers and almost always found a cutworm close by the dead plant. Thankfully, there weren't too many worms. We just didn't know what was destroying the plants until they had taken out almost all of our broccoli and cauliflower. I forgot to mention in the video that they like lettuce too. Thank you so much for praying for our family. Hope you have a blessed weekend as well.❤

I do the same, freezing the strawberries until I get enough to make jam. I put the berries in a colander, with a bowl underneath. The juice makes a nice treat to add to water on a hot day. Nice to see Caleb. I can't believe he's 21. God bless

I will be praying for Kip and your oldest sons. It is absolute evil what the tyrants that rule over us have done to our currency and the cost of housing for the working man. It takes a lot of sacrifice and creativity to get a home these days.

It’s like this all over the world now, everyone is having financial struggles . The world economy haven’t bounced back from covid pandemic and the horrible wars that Russia and Israel have started sadly influences the economy. It’s hard, but it will turn around again. These things always goes in cycles. Let’s just hope it gets better sooner that later. I can’t hang on to my house much longer . But renting a house is way more expensive so I’ll have to try.. I’ve cut back on everything , one meal a day ,that cost less than $2 .. I tried my best to save on the electricity , I have to sleep in the living room as I can’t afford to heat both floors of my house . It’s hard times for sure 😢 Here a gallon of gas is $10, a bread is $5 and a gallon of milk €14 . I pay $150-450 per month for electricity .most in winter obviously , this year I had to have the heating on from September until May 1st. A a single mom on disability it’s really difficult . My monthly house mortgage payments has gone from $800 a month to $1300… My brother is so kind to help me out with that. My income is $2100 a month , so obviously , that does not cut it.. I also have to pay for some of my medication and supplements about $600 a month. haven’t been able to do anything fun, go to the hairdressers , buy good clothes and shoes for myself in years . I’ve bought fake crocs or plastic Birkenstock shoes for $3 a pair😂. My winter Uggs is 10 year old and this year I got a hole on them, I have no idea how I’ll get new one.. 😅 I’ve lost a lot of weight, but still wearing my clothes bought before 2014, when my last relationship ended.. but hey , I’m sure it’ll get better soon!! ❤

Always a blessing to see you all out in the garden it looks beautiful already please update how the carrots are doing with the beets comfrey and carrot infusion also I have a question Our Heavenly Father has blessed your family with an abundance amount of land if your sons wanted to build a home why don’t you all use all the trees that God has provided on your land to build that home instead of purchasing expensive amount Of wood and material Yes it’s a lot of work but it’s worth it.

The carrots are almost ready to harvest.🙂 And the beets are doing much better as well. Our sons have thought about getting a mill, but we don't have a lot of unusable trees, as our land was logged shortly before we purchased it. They do still hope to get some of their wood from the land and invest in a chainsaw mill to process it. Blessings to you.❤

To help with the cut worms take about a 2 or 3 inch, about 6 inches of newspaper, wrap around the stem above the root before planting the plant.

Your garden looks fantastic!! So neat and orderly! I seem to remember reading something about putting paper collars around the bases of plants that are prone to cutworms. A tedious job, I’m sure, but from what I remember, fairly effective. I don’t think you clear the soil from the onions until they begin to bulb. I believe it is called “spooning”, because it was done with a spoon.
