The advocate group has every right to request a truly independent 3rd party rather than a lawyer who boasts getting pastors and churches off the hook.

Eric saying that 5 months before it came out public, he found out about it from someone connected to the Jane Doe and was kind of advising. then turn around and work for IHOPKC, wouldn't that be a confict of interest.

This is like a toxic divorce where mom and dad have lawyered-up and the traumatized kids are only hearing legalese, restraining orders, and custody negotiations. This will never be resolved until dad (Mike) publicly steps up to the mic and truthfully and fully confesses and repents. Until that happens, this is all wordsmithing.

For IHOKC to go with a so-called independent third party that's not in agreement with the victims is a BIG mistake. It means they don't truly want the full truth. Something is being still hidden. When you care about the victims, you take their suggestions by choosing the correct independent third party they are comfortable with.

FACTS: Even if a younger person or spiritually immature person "seduces" a pastor/Christian leader, the leader is still responsible. Period. Full stop. At least 14 states have laws on the books about this. And here are other examples. A student tries to seduce a teacher. Someone at a drug scene tries to seduce a cop. A prisoner in jail tries to seduce a guard. Guess who loses their job. Guess who loses their license. Guess who is held responsible. (That's a rhetorical question.)

Considering the massive turnout of drama & hurt from former participants I would say that clearly IHOPKC is not a safe place for our family & children.

In my experience of abuse, it’s not usually done in front of 2-3 witnesses. That’s a joke! The fact that these women weren’t counseled to file a report to the police & that IHOPKC was trying to deal with it in house is disgusting & disturbing. I’m saddened that pastor team hides behind the gospel and Matthew 18. They all need a good job shadowing with someone who deals with abuse cases regularly, to get a clue! How about doing a pastoral job of compassion, empathy, understanding, asking questions and offering support….or just plain knowing when something beyond your scope of knowledge. I’m so confused why Eric Volz was involved?? So confusing. It should be victims, org & 3rd party investigators. So convoluted & messy.

Listening to this left me nauseous. ELT members quit because, by their own testimony, Bickle had isolated himself and refused ti acknowledge any wrongdoing.

IHOPKC lawyered up after the leadership refused to act on allegations of sexual abuse. The victims rightfully views that act as a threat, because the advantage immediately shifts to those who have money to pay for lawyers. Any one who has been involved with our "justice" system soon realizes that the system can easily break your bank, and the process can be delayed until your bank is broke, at which time settlement occurs because there is no more money to take. The victims also understand that the accused parties can counter sue, thus putting you at risk again to prolong the process, which costs more money. It was a mistake to hire a lawyer to investigate. The victims were correct in refusing to agree with this investigation. Mike Bickle showed his true colors by not being transparent and honest to reveal the truth. Add the fumbling and cover up by the ELT, you now have reason to have zero trust in the leadership of IHOPKC to objectively find the truth and treat the victims with respect.

Eric came into a difficult situation. Bless him for trying to help. What’s still needed is a 3rd party investigation that all parties participate in. The community needs all voices heard, and testimony cross checked so we can know the Truth; nothing concealed, and nothing embellished.

EV was a "hitman" for IHOPKC and tried to foist a lie onto the Advocate Group: said that if the Advocate Group would not submit to IHOPKC's "independent investigator" (which was not independent by any means), that it was "on them". Bully tactics. EV persisted throughout his time there by repeating the lie "independent investigator" as often as he could, to sow into the minds of his audience the notion that IHOPKC's legal team (the so-called "independent investigator") could be fully trusted. These, friends, are bully tactics.

We need to have physical proof that someone was sexually assaulted? What would that entail? I thought the Bible says with two or three witnesses let every word be established. That's all the Jewish people did it. If you have two to three credible witnesses all saying the same thing then that's the truth. Obviously we can also pray to make sure these three people aren't conspiring against a church leader😢 We should use biblical principles to help guide our way through troubles like this. Personally if someone claims to be a man of God and does something this bad I don't think they should ever be back in leadership. That's my personal position because God's flock of precious sheep are too valuable to possibly let that happen again. I recently found out how these American churches work where they have a so-called pastor over another pastor when really Jesus is the head of the church and we should all be following Jesus and confessing our sins to him not other leadership. If these churches worked the way the Bible says things should go where there is not just a pastor but a pastor and a prophet and a teacher etc you would have close people around you to discern any wickedness in the camp. This is how Jesus said it should roll

wow. i was willing to put on my unbiased hat and listen to this as neutrally as I could HOWEVER he has misrepresented so many details and in my opinion, lied about how things happened (ex: that 50 page document that he describes as being prevented to the ELT? it was given to ONE PERSON SG, in person, in confidence. It was an unfinished working document not meant for anyone else's eyes. According to the Advocates videos from their own mouths, that 50 page document was never supposed to be passed on to anyone else. That's just one misrepresentation of the facts) The discussion about which 3rd parties IHOPKC hired? BS. In this era of trauma and abuse allegations, a church CANNOT objectively investigate itself. By continuing to hire defense attorneys, the IHOPKC leadership lost whatever trust and credibiilty they had. Hearing Eric Volz's tone of voice with contempt toward Jane Doe et al BIZARRE that a CSA survivor wants privacy??? saying that proves that you are clueless when it comes to things like this. If you do not knpw the legalities of why it would not be wise for advocates or survivors shows that he did not do even 15 inutes of research into these topics. IHOPKC SHOULD be investigated for possible financial misconduct as well. imo The REASON IHOPKC refused a full transparent investigation might be because there is much to hide. Anyone with a computer and tiny bit of smarts can turn up some suspicious details. Wow. wow wow. "Some bomb threats"???? I heard of one AND the worship team stayed there playing through it all...

It's good to hear the other side of the story, but the investigation report that was released reads more like a defense of Bickle and IHOPKC than an attempt to discover the truth. If the investigator wasn't able to do this due to lack of access, I think this should have been stated and should have been the primary conclusion of the report. As it is I don't really blame the advocacy group for not wanting to go forward with this investigator.
