South states got a lot of incentives from the central govt for about 50 years after independence, at the cost of states like Bihar, Odisha, etc. Odisha will never get that benefit from Central Government. Odisha has to find it's own path. Odisha works differently from your states, everyone here is a cog, including mr Pandian. Everyone pushes the chariot together.

States collect much more than only direct tax. For example- Jharkhand in 2020 gave a total of 40 thousand crores of minerals to India & received only 7200 crores in royalty. Only 7200 crores. When you factor in the other taxes that it gave to the government and what it got in return for every hundred rupees Jharkhand gives to India in total, they receive 0.12 paise back. Same story with Odisha. Odisha gave 42,000 crore worth of coal to India and got 3900 crore back. This is just coal. Odisha also produces iron ore & other minerals. Imagine the cumulative losses. Talk to Odia people who live in mining areas, this union of India is worse for them than the British raj. When people have sentiments like these, how can any media house claim that recipient states are receiving less than they give? This is absolutely baffling. They take everything from mineral states, give them nothing in return, and then accuse the mineral states of not giving them enough?🙄

I am from Kandhamal and the core local issues is unemployment. Youths in mass forced to work as manual labour in kerala and Tamil Nadu after their graduation. It occuring because lack of strategy and planning. Southern Odisha has potential to attract tourists throughout the year but not even a iota is done. Naveen Babu should understand this as well.
