WHY isn't some form of this information given to patients on the SAME day as diagnosis?!! I know soo many people that ended up doing permanent damage to their heart thinking they were just pushing themselves a little because their doctors never explained the risks included in this video... Excellent presentation by the way!!! 👍👍

I accidentally damaged my heart by lifting a 90lbs item using my left hand to put inside a car trunk. From then on I have MVP and regurgitation, tricuspid regurgitation, chest pain, palpitations and shortness of breath. I'm only 27. Been suffering for almost a year. Not sure how long I have until its game over.

This info should be given to patients the same day the doc makes the diagnosis! I'm a VA patient so all we get is medical gaslighting. 😆 🤣 💀

I looked for the exact exercise recommendations for BAV patients and i couldn't. Even my doctor couldn't give an exact answer as to what is safe and what is not. But this doctor provided great advice.

Same here! I've been asking this question of my own doctors for almost 30 years and getting very vague we don't really know or have enough research type of answers. This information should be available to all patients the same day your doctor informs you that you have BAV!

Do you have any regurgitation?

@@deadbones23 My understanding is that all patients with BAV have some regurgitation - it's just a matter of how severe that regurgitation is.

If one has a remodelling heart after a major ascending aortic arch aneurysm, the right ventricle is still larger and not functioning as normal. Cardiologist opinion is that ventricle will improve. So what in this case re exercising, in addition to mild mitral valve incompetence, and sl aortic valve stenosis, the cardiologist attributed this to ageing ( a septuagenarian.

My cardiologist thinks its Anxiety and told me to ignore all my symptoms. He is not gong to let me do another echo. I have MVP (mitral valve prolapse), Mitral regurgitation, Mild tricuspid regurgitation, Chest pain, Shortness of breath, Palpitations, Multiple pulmonary lung nodules, Intestinal metaplasia of gastric cardia, GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), Difficulty swallowing pills since birth. Too many problems that I can't simply ignore. I might actually change my cardiologist to get another heart ultra sound.

I was told the same, I also have MVP and all the symptoms related to that… but is being really hard to ignore the symptoms, sometimes I feel so weak, and the symptoms are so strong that I ended calling emergency. At this point I don’t really know what is going on with me.

@@classicalexpert By MR do you mean Mitral Regurgitation ? Then yes, I've been diagnosed with both Mitral and Tricuspid regurgitation along with Mitral Valve Prolapse based on a heart ultra sound.

@@classicalexpert I don't think it is a coincidence that when you hear, trained athletes suddenly die and they are young, healthy and fit with zero pre-existing condition. Our heart is very fragile. I believe we can definitely affect the heart negatively when we put a lot of stress on it through high intensity training, high intensity physical activities, heavy weightlifting, running etc. That's also the reason why you see most bodybuilders die in their 40's from heart-related problems. Our heart can only tolerate so much to a certain extent and it varies from person to person. During my younger days, when I was 15 and 16 years old, I had so much energy and strength to do crazy things. Drinking coffee daily and over training and doing heavy weightlifting because I enjoyed bodybuilding /weightlifting in general. I put a lot of stress on my heart without even realizing the long-term consequences. I guess you can do those things at that age because your organs are at their prime level.

@@CelestialTrailblazer yeah everybody is different there is people can tolerate with high intensity training but nothing happens but there is some people too can gets the damage.. but know your body don't push too much if you can't i think it's the key.
