If there was any sort of deep message of this movie, it was a metaphor about the STD spread among Gen X, masked as a fear of technology. Gen X pioneered gaming really and it was a big fear in society, but games were casual for Gen X, just as sex was. The game being "corrupted" was a stand in for the spread of diseases among that generation that really mainstreamed hook up culture.

Love love love this movie. I watch it almost yearly for thanksgiving. That end was so good. Also loved you reserved KZfaq plaque, soon enough it will be yours. I still too this day say “screensaver mode”.

I've often wondered if the Eridian guns from Borderlands 1 (which suck) might have been inspired-dee-dired by the toothy-go-nuts bone gun. Not in the way they function (since they're mostly energy weapons), but just in their aesthetics. 10:32 That bandoleer of ammo is a caliber he isn't currently using. And he's wearing it in left-handed configuration despite being a right-handed shooter. And he's got the stock on his MP5A3 (which might be an HK94 made to look like an MP5A3) collapsed for no reason. And he's wearing his beret the wrong way. If a beret has an insignia, it should go over the wearer's left eye with the draped material over the right ear. Also, berets aren't worn in combat because they mark you as a priority target. 13:34 Should have had a round chambered already. And it's supposed to be an "HK slap."

So everyone playing eXistenZ is susceptible to becoming like Cobb’s wife Mal in Inception, unable to distinguish reality from fantasy, only with computer games instead of dreams, & with dodgy-looking "portals" instead of "totems"? _FINALLY,_ I think it makes sense!🤔 Or is that just what you _WANT_ me to believe? Did I just watch a new TheNewBee Review, or am I trapped in a dream/computer game of someone else’s design, probably TheNewBee’s?!!🤯

I actually really like this film. It's very Cronenberg by which I mean it's like an exaggeration of his earlier film. The dvd I have has loads of Sega Dreamcast related extras for some reason. Super cool.

Does the watermark do anything? Can't imagine a bot would take notice. Even a manual claim is pretty ruthless, I often see people put fair use law in the description and like does it help? I wanna review movies

My favourite david cronenberg movie. If you haven’t seen it yet, I’d recommend you check out ‘Ravenous’ 1999, it’s the Cronenberg movie that Cronenberg didn’t make.
