Thanks Exoman You saved me from buying a carburetor. And for showing me that third screw on the back of the intake manifold. I could not see it until I got a flashlight. Got the carb off and now I’ll use the tips you gave in the video.

The “mushy” substance is residual from the gas evaporating off leaving the ethanol. Ethanol will destroy carbs and fuel lines. I would highly recommend running fuel stabilizer every time you fuel up

Thanks for the video. I think my 25hp Mariner has the same carburetor or close enough to be in the same family.

Boat fuel cool it works good. Aviation fuel way way more better! Just clean the spark plugs every few hours.

That mush sedimentation is usually components in gas that settle. Gas is forced thru pipeline lines using water. The gas refinerys will distill or separate the gas from any water to remove most all the water and oil components. But let’s not forget gas is refined from oil and although they get most of the oil components out of the gas some tiny amounts will remain. So Exoman my educated guess on your mush would be to say it’s oil sediments in the gas. Also I wouldn’t rule out some water from condensation from cold to hot inside that metal and also some water being also inside the gas itself. Here’s an experiment you can do. Take a small amount of oil and a small mount of water and put it in a mason jar and keep shaking it up. Eventually after enough shaking it up it will form a yellow mush just like what’s in your carb bowl. 👍🇺🇸

I one say its just water condensation in the gas it just over time you can put a little bit of b12 in you gas an every time you put gas in it till it starts running really good had a motorcycle sitting for a long time done the same thing an one day it just soothed out been running good ever since good luck with it cool video 📹 😎

Exoman you need a headband with a GoPro mounted to it so you can use both hands on project vids like this. 😉👍

I'm a service tech for Yamaha, and do not rebuilt them anymore,we replace them entirely too.. they are made too poorly and the metal flakes too.gums up too. Cheaper and easier to replace them too.its scale from the gas due the composites going bad and eats the metal too.

You need a long 1/4 extension and go out past the carburetor, its water inside the the carburetor

Never buy a grey fuel line. The liner inside of it deteriorates. Use automotive fuel line it last year’s!
