As a lifelong Show Me stater, and Ozark’s resident, I am forever grateful to our fore fathers and mothers that stopped the plan referred to in this program. They even tried to dam the Meremac. Could you imagine? All the remarkable beauty we float and hike through every year submerged? Yes, I am grateful it has been left to the farmers and residents.

Government has always been out of touch with everything it attempts to govern. It is the most destructive force mankind has ever created.

The Current & the Eleven-Point the most scenic rivers in the state. I used to float them decades ago.

Love the vintage longboats, though there is no need for an engine to float this river. Sadly, the Current River has been inundated by jetboats blasting up and down the river, destroying the solitude and quiet beauty that for many years was attractive to the canoeist.

Yeah well I grew up in van buren and the jet boats above big springs never get out of the low 30s as they are horsepower restricted. From big springs to gooseneck they rarely get out of the 40s since inboards are banned. As far as “destroying the beauty” of the rivers, you can thank the tourists who float the river. They trash the river 100x more than the locals ever thought about.

I have a favor to request from the owner of this KZfaq channel.. Please go into video settings and toggle automatic subtitles so that I can watch this video with captioning... Automatic captioning is not perfect but much better than no captions at all... I am deaf.... Thank you !!!
