A 1940's Float Trip down the White River in the Missouri Ozarks. These trips brought people from around the country to float the clear waters. Today much of the river is below the reservoirs of Bull Shoals and Table Rock. Yet, some still float the tributary rivers in the historic boats of yesteryear. Visit Longboat Outfitters for a historic float down clear cool Ozarks' stream just like before the reservoirs. www.longboatoutfitters.com

OMG, I remember Owen's as a little kid, in the 50's it wasn't much different. Thanks for the memories!

My great grandpa Tomp Turner was a river guide here, and lived at the old Kimberling Bridge before being relocated by the rising waters. As a river guide myself out in Oregon, I have always wondered what that big river must have looked like before the dams. Thank you so much for showing me a window into my family's history, and making my late grandma's descriptions of that place come to life

Now below the Damn at Bull Shoals is one of the best Trout fisheries in the world. I enjoy it frequently! Was in Cotter last Friday and enjoyed a shoal lunch just down stream with a group of friends. If you ever find yourself in N.Central Arkansas come see us we'll leave the gate open.

Yes. Somewhere under the reservoir lie these gravel bar camps. To think, the bluffs used to over look a MIGHTY white river. It must have been a glorious adventure!

Thanks so much for the video---enjoyed it very much...can I assume the float started at Forsyth below Powersite Dam? Have been floating the Osage Fork, Niangua, and Gasconade for many years - nothing so peaceful and rewarding.

I am not familiar with Ray G. Henderson but I will keep an eye out for that name. Perhaps someone else is familiar with it? Thanks!
