Antelope Canyon is a dramatic slot canyon on Navajo Indian lands near Page in Arizona, USA. It has become a 'must-visit' site due to amazing publicity on social media. The canyon is in two parts and each can only be visited on a guided tour. At busy times during summer, you need to book a time-based tour several days ahead.
Both parts of the canyon are spectacular. The Upper Canyon is shorter, wider at the bottom, more crowded, easier to access, more expensive to visit and it features the famous light beams at certain times. There is no guarantee, however, that you will see them. The Lower Canyon has numerous steps which make it unsuitable for some people but you walk through it in one direction thus avoiding conflicting traffic. We believe both sections give an outstanding experience and provide amazing photographic opportunities.
After visiting Antelope Canyon, a visit to nearby Horseshoe Bend is highly recommended.
There are tours to the canyon from Page, Las Vegas, Phoenix and some other places but no public transportation options. Long-distance visitors can rent a car from various airports but all are many hours from the canyon.
