I stayed at a capsule hotel that was designed to resemble first-class airplane cabins. The interior was incredibly clean and stylish.
Whether you're a frequent traveler or simply looking for a unique accommodation experience, FirstCabin offers a one-of-a-kind stay that will leave you feeling pampered and rejuvenated.

I'm Japanese, but I can only experience this in the city, and I don't have the opportunity to experience it as a country person. The feeling of wanting to go is the same as everyone else.

This place seemed nice, very clean and affordable for the provided amenities. I like that floors are designated gender. Maybe things are different in Japan but I couldn’t sleep with door, or in this case a screen, that didn’t have a lock or latch of any kind. I for sure couldn’t wear earplugs that way. Nor be able to sleep with the gap of light coming through. They likely dim the hall lighting and one could wear an eye mask, but still. Thank you for sharing!

It's so cool, I definitely wanna try out either hotels or the train travels because it feels so special it's crazy that all these exist yet people in my country are just accustomed to living traditional ways with less to no technology involved but for a individual like me, I need to try these out, Japan is wonderful

As an introvert, I applaud Japan for pioneering so many business models that keep one out of contact with other humans. As a staunch individualist, I fear how Japan is pioneering so many business models and nurturing a culture that reduces human beings to soulless automatons who should be content in the "luxury" of an sardine can with no bathroom that you can't even lock the door on the seal out the hostile world beyond for a few hours. It's rather disturbing if you take the time to think about it without being lulled by the novelty of it.

A great affordable capsule hotel. I don't have to say clean because that goes for most places in Japan, though I am aware there are exceptions. This would make a great 2 night stopover for my Son and I when we finally get to Japan. I'll be begging everyone to use their earplugs though because my snoring is ridiculous. I had my phone record me one night while I slept and between snoring, yelling, talking and thrashing about in my sleep, I now understand why my Son, while growing up, wanted earplugs and both our doors shut at night 😂

Very interesting to see as a German! But it would completely freak me out that you can’t lock the “door” (screen fits better) and that there’s space between the door and the floor/ceiling! I couldn’t sleep like that! What’s funny is that I have no problem sleeping in my cabin pod when I’m flying over 10 hours. Maybe I feel safer because there are stewardesses watching all the time and people are security scanned before entering the plane. Especially in the first and business class pods I feel safe. In the cramped economy class with people directly near me I couldn’t sleep I guess.

Any kind of trouble, attacks, etc., are rare in capsule hotels. There are many cameras in common areas so you'll be recorded somewhere. Genders are separated by floor. Most are incredibly clean and orderly. I think there aren't any doors and locks cause if there were, it'd be designated as a hotel with higher taxes and more regulations. Consequently becoming more expensive. I've stayed in a few and you quickly realize nobody wants anything to do with you. Generally people aren't there to socialize and mind their own business. Everybody just wants to eat and crash. They've been a godsend sometimes.

❤ Love the video. Can anyone tell me why the capsules are not completely closed???
@experience_japan
@experience_japan 10 ай бұрын
The reason is due to restrictions imposed by Japanese law. In Japan, there are two types of hotels: regular hotels and simple accommodation facilities, with capsule hotels falling under the latter category. Typically, these facilities have small rooms and it can be difficult to secure evacuation routes in emergencies, which is why it is prohibited to lock the doors.
