I grew up in San Jose, CA at the same time, and all of my teachers were from UC Berkeley. We said they were from "Berzerkley." because they were so liberal and hippies. We were Guinea pigs for their "new ideas" to change the curriculum in so many ways, which no doubt fouled up many kids and their education. I was lucky that my parents selected the most traditional, but because of this, I was alerted to the same nonsense when my own kids were in public school. Pulled them out immediately. That 60's generation then always claimed "Question Authority" and many of my teachers had those bumper stickers, and now they (the liberals) embrace "Authority" without question!

That's a very unsafe point of view. If you force an addict that is not ready to be sober into treatment ill tell you what happens, I've seen it numerous times. They go through the motions of treatment, as soon as they are discharged they go back to their previous neighborhood and behaviors. Many of them will overdose due to losing their tolerance in rehab. Your view of the homeless is mostly untrue.

I think it is important to be critical of marijuana (and all drugs) but to not knee jerk blame everything on freedom. The US is going through a drug problem in general like many times before, which is not limited to legal drugs. So there is an underlying issue here.

Never got paranoid off THC and I use the high potency stuff as I'm an epileptic and legal marijuana has allowed me to live a somewhat normal life. Its also much safer than the opiates they keep trying to push on me for my collapsed discs

I wouldn't take any advise from a dude who freaked out the first time he tried pot. The price difference between taxed marajuana and non taxed marajuana is insane. I will not go to a 'legitimate' dispensary because its less convenient and you get so much less for your money in a fancy jar. Marajuana and THC by itself is pretty mild and very tame as far as 'drugs' go. Alcohol is more of a gateway drug than marajuana is. The guest on this episode has reefer madness and needs to turn his attention to the drugs that are doing people instead of the drugs that people do.

Very interesting conversation! I lived in Berkeley during the pandemic People were nuts about the masks and such. I didn't like it up there and left in less than a year. The political climate was very odd, and made me uncomfortable. People seemed very rigid and there was a lot of crime.
