I never understand the comparison of Rajasthan child marriage and Muslims underage marriage. Rajasthan get kids married, like committed and they have sex after they grow up after another ceremony. Where as Muslims for ex in assam get a 35 40 year old married to 15 16 year old....these are two separate things. AFAIK Rajasthan are okay and happy with ucc.

As a lawyer i can say only one research gap is there in the whole video....the 30 day notice period in sp marriage act is now abolished by sc judgement....it is no more mandatory....may be published or may not be according to the situation

Even if it is bad politics but for Good governance it can be acceptable. Great detailing sir 👏. 1. Focus should be on the information that will be provided by the 22nd LC report and its understandings. 2. The way this UCC bill will be introduced into the parliament and elaborate deliberations happening to attain a sensible and reasonable consensus . If 1 & 2 stand good obeying the constitutional values , secular fabric and human dignity => then UCC can help in bringing better civilian integration in personal dimension and individuals cohesion in our society.

All developed countries have ucc. India desperately needs a ucc, and it is mentioned in the constitution too. Multiple marriages is a completely absurd consept , same for inheritance and divorce. These laws should definitely be the same for everyone.

Using UCC for religious polarisation is unfair. Being a indian Christian, I can say that even Christian laws do have fault lines regarding gender equality. Intention behind UCC should be inclined on giving equal rights to womens instead of turning this matter as hindu muslim issue. Orelse reform the religious laws itself. I mean India's leaving aside civil law, India's uniform criminal law is itself filled with so many fault lines like decriminalising martial rape, AFSPA, Sedition..

This is a complex issue given the many cultural and religious practices here from times immemorial.Tribal laws are very different too.This cannot be rushed through half baked.Too much scope for confusion, grey areas and misinterpretation.This cannot be hurried through. We cannot have patchwork nonsense including some groups exempting other groups.This is total BS . BJP needs to deal with the mess in Manipur and the insane price rises, unemployment and other law and order issues .

No A son gets double of what the daughter gets according to the islamic sharia. This is because a son is given the responsibility of the house. The daughter might spend out of her own will but it’s not mandatory for her whereas it’s obligatory for the son to take care of the family. Islam puts the responsibilities of finance of a young girl on the shoulders of a father initially. When she grows and reaches an age where she is capable of marriage, her financial responsibilities get transferred to the husband. In the old age, if the husband dies, the responsibilities shift on to the son and so on. So as you see that the girls have no obligations to spend out of their properties, whereas the guy has to lift all the burden of the family on his shoulders. I hope this explains it.

The time for nuances and sensitives is over. NOTHING will change in this matter unless something is done with a firm attitude. True secularism is when the same rule applies to everybody. So, just like the form of parliamentary democracy (which was imported into India from the West), uniform civil laws also can be inherited from the West. I am sure true liberal and secular people should have no complaints in this regard.

I am a student of both CA and LLB. This is one of the best videos with respective to UCC covering both thenlegal as well as tax impavts of UCC na dthe challenges faced by UCC w.r.t its exceptions and implementation from bpth legal and tax stand point. Applying UCC in India is really hard. Amending the existing family laws for equality and plugging of loopholes and then bring them under a single code will be a better manner of implementing UCC (in an indirect manner).

As I am a Muslim, I would like to see how it is possible to implement UCC in a country like India. Rather than opposing the UCC, which has become the current hot topic in the country, I have decided to support it. In the current context, even in the absence of the UCC, the legal crises faced by Muslims in India are unlikely to be known to other religious brethren. Muslims in India are already experiencing all the problems they think will arise if the UCC is implemented. UCC does not create any new problems for us.
