I'm a combat vet and I've played shooter games since i was a little kid. for the record I have never killed anyone. killing a person in a video game is completely different from killing people IRL.
@LyamOfficial7 жыл бұрын
I get you mate, I seriously despise kids that want to join the military or some stuff like that because playing shooters or love the idea of shooting people, they think actual real combat is cool and shit like a Hollywood movie, its not, funny enough when the SJW/Feminazi virus was starting to spread some years ago I remember some guys I knew was returning from combat and some batshit insane feminazi told him that He was a horrible human being and murder cos "He was sent to bomb some innocent people and sstuff", dude was already having alot of problems going on since He hated what he was doing on a ethical/mental level, She doing that just actually trigger him some actual PTSD stuff on him, some people think soldiers are just mindless/soulless murder machines .... they are not (most of the time)

Getting enlisted in 6 years (lulz) I don't want to miss it because hard times men if you don't enlist you're counted as a douche bag where i live by other people, also i love my country and want to serve, damn radical leftys won't enlist, I don't want to b like them, and lastly ill probably enlist in a computer corp, so no combat for me, better that way.

Video games are like drugs. Your friends pressure you so hard, desperate to be cool, you try it. Then they'll pull it randomly, again, and again. You can't stop, it's too much fun. The consequences may be drastic, but you continue. You become addicted. Lusting for the sweet controller/keyboard in your hand. THE PAIN IS UNBEARABLE! NO FOOLISH MORTAL CAN STOP YOU NOW!!!!!!! -Did I also forget the part where you have a heart attack and die?-

People who don't play video games in particular always jump to conclusions like that! It's so annoying! My relatives think I'm a bad kid just because they've heard I play video games with guns!

A couple of days ago, my mom told me video games were made to desensitize the military before war. My response was, "You do realize the first video game was pong, right?" I'm still not sure if she realizes that when i'm playing cs:go or any other shooter i'm not actually forgetting how despicable it is to kill someone.

Well said. I enjoy historical shooters because I like history. I find the advancement of technology and military tactics during WWII (particularly that of aviation) fascinating. I think its also important to remember that during a conflict as vast as WWII there are some really fascinating stories of the men and women who lived through it. Just look at a movie like Hacksaw Ridge which is based on actual events and people. It's violence is juxtaposed with the character of Pvt. Desmond Doss a real soldier during WWII who refused to touch a gun because of his religion. He faced adversity not only on the battlefield but with his own comrades as well. He saved the lives of over 70 men and never fired a shot. Then there is the story of Franz Stigler a German Luftwaffe ace who spared the crew of Charlie Brown's B-17 and is the subject of the book a Higher Call. When it comes to any artistic medium some of themes worth exploring the most are things like War, Love, etc.

Rambo (The rebooted movie in like 2008 or something) = No Controversy. Call of Duty WWII = You're literally a serial killer if you play this game. I love logic sometimes.

Well, as far as CoD goes. The setting is not enough to save the franchise which seems to be the common thought of everybody. I still think it is going to be the fast paced no skill required fiasco it has become more and more since MW2. I miss the PS2 days man. I really really do. Games were challenging. DLC or expansions were a rarity and not expected from day 1. You had to learn the mechanics of every game before you actually were good at them.

"Only a non-gamer would say that." Ouch! That just hammered down quite a lot of points I would have wanted to make sure of! These articles are likely coming from conservative people who have never played a video game, or have even heard of the medium outside of just Call of Duty. And then when mass shootings happen, they blame "Video Games" (I think they're really supposed to be blaming Call of Duty if they're doing this, but "Video Games" in general?!). For a couple of years, I was considering giving up video games all because they involve winning and losing, and I hate losing. But now hearing this, this almost makes me GLAD to be a gamer because I wouldn't be one of those idiots who blames shootings on "Video Games" (or "Call of Duty", as they should, but I really don't think Call of Duty causes shootings at all).

@stoneeater75517 жыл бұрын
I m simply disappointed from my homeland. we have : the killergame debate, the afd/npd, Nazis(were I live), reichsbürger (they think that Germany officials doesn't exist and still is captured by the USA and they "conquer" land and claim it as theyr own, they don't pay taxes and cost everyone money), drug dealers that cooperate with the police(I have seen this happen multiple times), and the list goes on. but we have free healthcare which means we're better than the USA.
@HeinrichHimmlerFascism7 жыл бұрын
Axel Heinze Nothing wrong with National Socialism. We have a right to put our people first, as do all other nations. Germany is for Germans, japan for japanese, mexico for mexicans etc. While private property should exist it should be under absolute regulation by the state to avoid corporations exploiting the people, the government also needs to stop throwing "guilt" at the people.
@SMACKu2b7 жыл бұрын
Lol, i feel like free health care actually causes more violence to be honest. I mean, if I really think about it, if I were to chip my tooth that could cost me $1000 out of pocket to repair or extract. It makes me think twice before I start throwing punches over a football game. lol, I've seen the UK streets after bar close and they are fucking maniacs out there just fighting for no reason "THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE JOHN ON THIS STREET FUCKER!" Lol

Tidycats kek, sounds lovely. That's due to poor moral guidance, and lack of National unity of the state. Our Governments hate us, and seek to divide us so they can usher in cultural Marxism.

Even if comparing video games or other entertainment to real-life blood sports makes some sense, its still a pretty fallacious argument. People don't derive enjoyment from those type of events because they're blood-thirsty savages, its not the activity people seek, its the feelings they get from it. These arguments arise the same way they always do, people equate the same or similar biological and psychological reactions between activities to one another, creating a false equivalence. You would never see a sane person compare eating comfort food to drugs though, despite both causing the release of endorphins, because its something they understand and likely indulge in themselves. Video games are a special case due to their interactive nature, you're never a purely passive participant like in other mediums.
