High in the cradling embrace of the Portuguese mountains, a secret is hidden - an abandoned mansion of unparalleled wonder. This forgotten jewel once belonged to the noble couple Pedro and Ines Maria da Lima, who resided in its glorious chambers. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Isabella, who brought joy and laughter to the grand halls.
As time whispered its passage, Mother Nature began her relentless siege upon the mansion, slowly reclaiming what was once a man's creation. Yet, amid the crumbling walls and encroaching vines, remnants of opulence remained, turning the place into an extraordinary museum of the past.
Pedro and Ines Maria's prosperity flourished through their agricultural company, and they generously invested their fortune in enhancing the mansion's splendor. But the cycle of life carried them towards the twilight years. Ines Maria and her beloved Pedro retired from the world of business, devoting themselves to the mansion and each other.
Tragedy struck when Pedro passed away, leaving Ines Maria to roam the grand halls alone. She embraced the memories and found solace in the mansion's embrace. However, as the weight of years burdened her, Ines Maria reluctantly moved to a nursing home, where her final days drew near, and she joined her beloved husband in the realm of the departed.
Left without heirs who cherished the mansion's legacy, Isabella's disinterest paved the way for the property’s relentless grip of decay. The once-magnificent mansion is now facing the cruel passage of time and the unforgiving forces of nature.
Enjoy this tour as we take you inside today and show you its immaculate beauty that is still present today.

Good day from British Columbia Canada. In 2018 I was in a traumatic car accident that left me an incomplete, partial paraplegic. My feet don't work anymore and it's hard for me to walk. But, ever since I have stumbled upon your videos you've let me explore the world that I used to love looking into myself. You've let me see a world that I will probably never get to see. I truly appreciate the gift that you've given me. Before my accident i used to love visiting the history of other countries. Canada has such a new history and not much to explore so i ventured to countries like Panama, Costa Rica, the Bahamas. Again thank you.

My uncle's mansion in New York had what was called a Summer Kitchen and a Winter Kitchen. The Summer kitchen was an addition to the back of the house and could be closed off to the rest of the house to keep the kitchen from heating the house up in the summertime. The Summer kitchen had a lot of Windows in it for ventilation. When The Summer kitchen was no longer needed, a lot were converted to screened porches...or taken down. The winter kitchen was actually inside the footage of the house, and was used to warm the house in the winter.... Back when the houses had fireplaces in each room for heat.

This tour was INCREDIBLE ! Definitely one for the books. This house had so much to see, you could spend an entire day in there and not see it all. Hard to believe it's all been left behind. This home really carried the essence of the people who lived here. Also, the choir singing in the background was such a special moment. Will never forget it. Maureno and Remon, you guys did a great job, once again. Thanks so much for taking us with you on all your adventures! God bless you both and stay safe!

This is my second go at watching this and I'm still not through. It is a nice pleasant thing to watch before I go to sleep. There is so very much to see. It is much better than watching TV before I go to sleep. I can remember visiting older people when I was a child and they had so much stuff in their houses like this one. That's the very sad thing. Their houses were decaying around them and so the decay has just truly took over, because there was no one there to fight it. Every time I see one of these places, it just makes me want to get rid of more and more things and stop collecting stuff that I really don't need. I think it is really nice to see you guys discovering each little thing as you go along. Love and hugs to both of you. And now, I am off to sleep and I will finish this lovely video tomorrow.

What a treasure I wish the property could be maintained. I would love to visit and stay there. Even the main kitchen was so cute with the animal tiles. I could see people having coffee in there and talking about what they would do for the day.

Here in the USA, we say "Salamander" and "Lizard", but they are 2 different but similar things. Lizards are the common grey ones with scaly skin that you see in the Summer in people's yards, dirt trails and on fences, doing push-ups. Salamanders are the gooey black ones with big, black eyes and suction-cup feet that live in dark places, like under wood that has been sitting in grass for a long time.

The bottle at about 51 minutes is to make soda water. It is filled with water and then the opening you were pointing to is where a small gas canister is inserted, to turn the water into soda water. My Dad used to have a few of these and used them often.

Amazing video, Maureno and Remon, one that keeps giving & giving & giving!!! 19:17, that Blue Plate truly magnificent. 24:26, that is a Birdhouse Gourd. Cut a 1”-11/4” Round Hole on side of lower section and pour out all of the seeds inside. Hang it in a tree or under a porch for House Wrens or other small birds to make a nest in it. Some people decorate them with paint designs. 1:18:24, did you notice the box or book cover with BEN-HUR on it? I’ve watched the movie many times! 1:41:44, the Framed Portrait of the lovely young lady, is the same as the small Round Framed picture of the girl you found on the table with the Glasses, upstairs at 1:26:53. Great Find and can see the details!! 1:47:00, thanks for showing the artwork of “The Gleaners” by Jean-Francois Millet! It is in Musee d’Orsay, Paris. 2:05:40, in Texas, USA, we refer to those attachments for Rifles as Bayonets (an extra weapon). 2:08:33, 2 swords are missing because there should be 7 swords mounted with the shield. Look at the first shield & swords and there were 7 swords on it at 2:03:13. Sorry I made so many comments, but there was a lot to cover. The last 2 places outside were just as overwhelming!! Thank y’all so much for the thrill of a Lifetime!!!

Hello my boys!!! ❤🤴❤🤴 Well that's the longest video on your channel! I wish it was longer or never ending though 🤭 Glad you took your time and stopped on the details to show us the beauty of this place!!! 😍 What i liked the most about it, is that it is decayed. I am happy that it's not vandalism and only natural decay and mother nature taking over. Even though it's sad to see such an amazing mansion (museum ) decay, and all the hard work put in to build it went to waste. And also, sad to see all the photos left behind. For real it's a museum. So much beautiful antiques left behind, the medieval stuff, the piano, and the queen of the show, the LIBRARYYY 😍😍😍 And also, i love that it's build out of stones. It's just so pretty and cozy ❤ I love thas this place also has a chapel, it is pretty as well. This explore is maybe, or so far i should say, is the queen of this Portugal series. Thanks for another great, amazing and wonderful video. Always fun to watch both of you explore together. The best duo 🥰 See you next time, bye! 😘😘😘

Thank you for taking me inside! Beautiful explore! Very informative. It looks like the last elderly gent who occupied the house moved into the downstairs living-in servant's quarters for convenience during his last days there. It also appears that the last occupant did not have money to keep up the huge mansion and had to just let parts of the villa go without upkeep or repair for several decades before he passed away. I think that the beautiful room off the kitchen used to be the formal dining room back "in the day" and there probably used to be a very long dining table that sat at least 10 to 12 people in the blue chairs. It would be interesting to know if the original table is somewhere else in the house.

Someone should contact the la Pina family. Well from these abandoned places videos we can see how all the historical family photos get lost…Forever. Used to be old family photos were treasured stored and passed down. Whoever had them cared for them so carefully. Clearly these old people did too. But clearly they didn’t know that their family wouldn’t care a bit for their family photos after their deaths or maybe were not in contact. My advice to people , once you get into your age say, 50’s, choose the most consistently responsible person in the family, and give them all the family photos. It will save them for the coming generations .

Thank you so much for the tour. Some extra info: 🇵🇹The “D” in D.Carlos or D.Manuel means Dão. These were the kings of Portugal. 🇵🇹Vinho verde is green wine which is unique to the region and the world. 🇵🇹Lower part of the house would accommodate visiting family or guests. 🇵🇹Galo de Barcelos is the cockerel of Barcelos. 🇵🇹Wedding photos / 25th wedding anniversary could have been the daughters or even granddaughters/sons. 🇵🇹The pen holder from Canada could indicate that the married daughter relocated Canada. 🇵🇹 The l real was the unit of currency of Portugal and the Portuguese Empire 1430 to 1911 then it was the escuro until the euro 2002. 🇵🇹A piano Will always okay no matter how old it is BUT it will be out of tune. The inner strings would need to be adjusted to get the right pitch. Some would need to be replaced due to rust. 🇵🇹the outer house would have been for those that worked on the property; the laborers etc. The place is in such a state due to the cost of its upkeep. Although the daughter would have inherited it, it may have been sold to others. The owner does not have to maintain it but needs to keep it free from vermin ie rats etc. The overgrowth has to be trimmed else the owners get fined but this is normally done in summer. Owners could actually take all the papers / books and sell them as there are items of value. Same with the majority of the antique artifacts / furniture pieces. Then take the proceeds to clean up the place.

E isto me parece comum em Portugal, as casas ficam intactas no tempo. You both are such wonderful guides. Omg and you are the antique masters. I hope some day you learn more about them. So you can describe better. That said your knowledge is good. Thanks good house. 🐟

Enis Marie would be 102 or thereabouts this year in 2023. Her daughter Isabelle would be in her late 80's, so if she was the only child and perhaps never had children of her own, then there is no one to care for the property. Especially if Isabelle did not marry well and doesn't have a lot of money.

Guys, I cant help but think that the founders of this home were merchant traders in the early 1800's when Macau was still a huge Porteguese holding. Crusaders from this family, before this place, probably is what gained them that minor nobility. I know nothing of Porteguese history from 1940 on, but it seems this family's fortunes reveresed around then. It looks like they tried to make guest housing in the 1980's (by looking at the more modern updates), but that this may have the last straw because the improvements costs prevented structural repairs. It could be saved! It is so worth it. Oh to be the one that does it!

Great video, loved the crystal chandalier in the dining room, im thinking the painting above the fire with a prominent hole where the clock would have been was put there intentional to house a small clock x

Aqui no Brasil os indígenas usam muito a cabaça para transportar água e se cortada ao meio serve de utencílio para colocar alimentos. Serve também para fazer instrumento musical, chamado *maracás*

Beautiful mansion, well done gentlemen...I believe the frame with the candlesticks was for stitching. Embroidery or cross-stitch. It's near a window to catch the light which is important if you are doing this type of work.

*My fav, place, I think those house in Portugal make you feel cozy, and in home. And you dream to see youself in a house like that but making a wish, if once you get older someone make a Library, a literature place or a good hotel, with maybe sone modern updates, but keeping the original house. And Never abandoned.*
