In today’s episode we take you on a tour of an abandoned farm house built in the 1840s. This small house along with its stables directly across the road was once home to a songwriter and author. Although of his great success he enjoyed living quietly in his little home. But around 2009 he decided to change lifestyles a bit moving him, his wife and one daughter to Los Angeles California so his daughter could pursue her dreams as a horse back rider. Now after the move the man’s nephew took over the property and what would happen next is straight out of a true crime story. While living in the house he went on a trip and when he arrived back he wanted to surprise his girlfriend who was still living at her parents home. But when he walked in and saw his girlfriend cheating on him he went crazy and stabbed her over 30 times and killed the man she was cheating with. Right after he drove back to the small home where he would later be arrested and sentenced to prison. And one thing we noticed inside the home was on the arm rest of the chair is what looks to be dried blood presumably there from when he got home after brutally stabbed his girlfriend. I think even though cheating on your partner is very bad I believe ending another life is even worse. So join me today and let’s see what’s left.

There's a good chance that, since his uncle was a famous song writer there are royalties still coming in paying that electric bill. Because a house deteriorates faster if it has no electric I'm really not surprised.

The story is fake and a murder never lived there. The property’s back story is plain. John Brahney and his wife, Dorothy, died in 2011. And that makes sense: the furnishings, knick-knacks, and leftovers are those you might expect of an elderly couple.

Too many female touches including Blue & white Collector plates in storage area, fridge, lights etc far too modern, Power is on as someone is in process of removing stippled ceiling and re-plastering. Things in fridge are very recent purchases. He's lucky new owner didn't find him inside!! Could have been another murder !

I admire your respect for the properties. I have been exploring since the 80s and my rule is always to not take anything. Even as a bratty hobo teen, I respected and cared for the properties I squatted. I did take a brick from Detroit's famous abandoned last year but I rarely explore anymore. I'm much older, more vulnerable, and it's so much more dangerous now. TY for sharing this. I'm glad young people are doing this work respectfully.

To further preserve this time capsule and others like it, can I suggest in the future, any homes you find abandoned with power, finding the main breaker box and shutting off the power from there. I noticed tou turned the chandelier off, which its a miracle it hasnt burst in flames already. But all the outlets and wirings are a ticking timebomb given that its a rodents oasis. Let alone the water damage finding any electrics.

I used to work as a mitigation technician (sounds fancy but it's not). Part of the job was sometimes cleaning out house where everything was left behind. It's crazy how you can really get to know someone just by going through all their stuff

@@amlaboy more often than not, the reason we had to clean out a house was because the person living there has died, which leads to us having to take up the carpet or tile or wherever their body was. So yeah it was pretty interesting but it's just crazy to me how these people never seemed to have any family or friends to come and grab their things. I always ended up feeling kinda bad for them. One guy had a stroke in his kitchen and his cats ate him

@justdynee it depends where... lots of developers buying up land to build subdivisions... the houses sit vacant for a long time. I live in a rural area, lots of creepy little shacks here, nothing as nice as what's in the video though. About 6 nice farm houses that were on my list were bought and renovated during covid so I missed out on those 😂

Our farmhouse (150 years old) is laid out as oddly as this house. And our stairs are super small and very steep. We're just getting around to knocking out the plaster ceilings, which are rather low like this house, and installing additional beams to bear a circular shower curtain for the antique claw foot tub. Our place is 4.5 stories, which is really kind of weird, as well. I think something very dark happened here sometime in the past; I just feel it in my bones. It sat vacant for a number of years and during that time, kids used it as a party house. This is really in the sticks, so no one really kept watch at all. All of the copper was stolen during the vacancy. I'd loved to have had someone do a spiritual walkthrough before we moved here, but we didn't know a soul.

You can do a walk through yourself, you just got to have the right intent behind your words and bless every nook and cranny including, doorways front and back, windows, mirrors ect in the name of Jesus. Tell whatever is there that it's not wanted and it to leave. Put some righteousness behind your words. Also, grab some sage and do it with that as well. Good luck!!

They said the owner moved away, and his nephew, who is the killer, moved in. My guess is that they had the electric bill in their name and just keep paying the bill. Maybe they have it on some kind of auto-pay and didn't even notice. They probably still own the house, but don't want anything to do with it. Now it's been abandoned so long it's too late, so they're just going to let it rot?

This is so cool! Thank you for showing it. It could be that someone comes there from time to time to clean it out - maybe that's why the lights were on. The furniture in the living room - that couch grouping is called a 'sectional', this one probably from the 1960's. The game with the chips and dice looks like Backgammon. The low ceiling speaks of age or damage. I think you were trying to think of 'book ends' when you said 'book holders' or something like that. The car window was rolled down (spooky...). I'm glad you didn't get hurt in there. Thanks for taking the high road and not blabbing on who the people were that lived there, especially the famous man. I'm intrigued by abandoned houses but don't have the guts to go in them. You are well-spoken and likeable. Continued success with your channel!

That turned agate candlestick holder is gorgeous. People seem to think that placing such things up high can protect them, but now when it eventually falls to the floor it will probably be damaged from that height. I always wish that the Urbexers will spot such things and put them in a secured place in the hope that someday someone will rescue it and it can be enjoyed and kept safe again.

Hi @Sheree hewing. I’m also in Melbourne Australia, I love watching these & also watch “Adam Mark Explores” from the UK. we don’t get to see this in Melbourne or much in Australia at all. Houses left by elderly with no family here seem to get taken over by someone or knocked down & re-developed! I can’t remember ever seeing one left to just rot, especially with the power still on.

It's strange how a lot of the items in the house look dated well beyond the time the nephew took over ownership. There are very few things that looked relatively recent - the car, the radio in the kitchen, but for the most part it looks like a time capsule of a house abandoned in the 1970’s, 80’s, maybe even 90’s with the CD's and sound system found in the den/bedroom. The nephew must have either not had the house very long or just didnt spend a lot if time there and didnt make many changes to it.

I love abandoned houses. When everything is left "standing still" it empowers me to find out WHY. If found some VERY interesting homes with even more interesting life stories. This one is an amazing one with an rven more amazing story.

This is a fake story. The property never belonged to a murder. The property’s back story is plain. John Brahney and his wife, Dorothy, died in 2011. And that makes sense: the furnishings, knick-knacks, and leftovers are those you might expect of an elderly couple.

It was (famous songwriter/author) niece who was murdered. She was only 23. This house is not connected to the murder except for the fact who lived there was related to the deceased.

A person who lives close to this house said the people that lived there died of old age. The murder story is untrue. The house was left to a niece, not nephew. She’s the one that “looks after” the house.

Right. Like you can feel the emotion and sadness through the screen. Guy wanted to surprise his gf and gets caught cheating which is one of the worst feelings in the world. So disappointing and hurtful. The anger sadness and reflection permeate through the whole place. Then I imagine him sitting on that chair thinking about what happened like “fuck…”
