Brings back so many childhood memories. I rode the city bus and or walked from Pleasant Hill to East Macon every school day.

I miss Macon. Me and my family used to live in Lizella and we'd go into Macon often. We rarely went into the historic areas though and I wish we had. I'd love to be able to explore downtown Macon as an adult.

The chit-chat is annoying. Why aren't you pointing out historical sites? And castles? REALLY? Has she ever seen churches before? Macon is a great city, downtown especially. Yes there is crime, but isn't that true everywhere?

I love Macon. The history, architecture, arts and music are amazing. As with any city, there are issues. However, all things considered, proud to call Macon... home.

I have my heart set on moving to Georgia!! I was trying to move to Florida last year, but couldn’t find a house. Anyway, I heard of the insurance issue they’re having down there. Don’t ever cry over spill milk, y’all! 😊

Macon wasn't burned to the ground during the civil war, General Sherman ignored the city so he could focus on nearby Milledgeville, which was Georgia's capitol at the time. After capturing Milledgeville, Sherman continued on to Savannah.

In 2017 we stopped at a gas station in Macon, there was an ‘87 Cutlass circling the parking lot. The female on the passenger side was trying to talk to my brother. Long story short, we encountered an old skool / low budget pimp… I thought they were shooting 🎥 ‘Hustle & Flow, Macon’ 😅

@@LTTinus Once you get to Macon...you will be enchanted...listen to the locals...and you'll love it. This video is nice...but there is so much more to Macon...music...history...nature...architecture...nightlife...

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I love the video...but Macon, being "boring"...no way...get out of the vehicle downtown and go into any local establishment...they will guide you around...it will be anything BUT boring...the culture runs deep on so many levels...music...history...nature...history...mysteries...culture...it's the people.

How was the city overall? Looks like a mixed bag from what you showed us. It has an amazing historic downtowns and beautiful old houses but also has some REALLY scary hoods as well. Even the good part is brought down by the thugs and crap like that.

Like any city...there is good and bad...and you just have to know where to go and not to go. This is an awesome town with so much going on...

I was born in Macon, Georgia in 1965 ,this was the greatest experience of my life and I was free to do what I wanted to do, I good time going from east to west or south side of town ,and enjoy what people bringing to table.

We just moved back to Macon from Canton. The cost of living is much more affordable than living around Atlanta, and as folks have said the crime is just like in any city, watch yourself and stay conscious of your surroundings.

Stay away from the south, east and most of the Westside of town. Esp if you are not from these areas. I live here nit a good place to come to

Macon, Georgia is a terrible place to live; there're few good paying jobs or opportunities and the crime rate is astonishingly high.

Macon was a great place growing up but now it's riddled with high crime, low income projects, unclean sewerage ditches (since 1995), high taxes and a city council who spends tax money frivously. I'm getting out. Macon sucks!
