Cool....my mother is from Murter and my grandfather fought in WW2 and was part of the resistance in the late 1930s in Murter during the Italian occupantion...definitely going to check these tunnels out. Where in the island are these bunkers?
@TattooedTraveler2 жыл бұрын
Nice, so there was a resistance prior to WW2? I didn't know, will try to look it up. These are "Tunel Raduć" gps will take you to the top of the hill on a dirt road. It's pretty easy to drive so no worries. Can also walk if you don't want to drive.

@@TattooedTraveler cool...thanks...I'm in Murter (the town) every year...so finding these kind of sights would be something new to explore this year when I go.... yes, there was an underground resistance...my gradfather did not like to talk about the war but from what I know when he was in his teens he was running nightly supplies to resistance fighters by boat hidden at several local small islands. That area was annexed to Itlay in the 1930s by the Ustasa who were supported by Italy at the time, and several locals resisted the occupation. My second cousin published a book several years ago describing what occupation was like during that time through the testimony of the locals. If you could read Croatian its an interesting read....sorry about the long reply, I got on a roll...lol....in your search for WW2 tunnels I highly recommend you head to the island Vis. If you havent already been there, there you will find vast tunnels including warship tunnels, old runways, etc. There are several tour guides who will take you on tours and describe the importance of Vis as a military outpost

@@garylukez3190 don't apologize! Thanks for sharing your story, it's fascinating. Vis has definitely been on my list for a while, definitely will document it in the future. There is also that sunken Roman Town "Colentum" between murter and betina as well. You can snorkel there 🤙
@garylukez31902 жыл бұрын
@@TattooedTraveler Yes, cool...I know about Colentum.......walked it several times...many of my relatives are buried at the hill top cemetery adjacent to Colentim, including my grandparents....so after a short visit there, I go for a Swim in the scorching hot summer weather!...lol.....interesting to note the small island directly in front of Colentum was at one time connected by land....so when boating in between the numerous Islands you probably hit a homerun too, boaters need to watch regularly for high spots in the sea as shallow as 5'-7'...tricky maneuvering when there's alot of boat traffic in the summer months....lol....hopefully you had an opportunity to visit the Kornati Islands also when you were there....a real treasure

@@garylukez3190 haha yeh there's plenty left to explore 💯🤙 thanks for sharing your stories, def did not know that about the small island. Must mean there's still stuff to find there lol. Vidimo se i hvala lipa za gledanju 🇭🇷

Better lights, but does your camera have an adjustable aperture? If you open the aperture a bit more when in tunnels more is visible! To see what I mean, look at some of "IKS Exploration" KZfaq videos, Ian really works the aperture to give the best views when exploring.

Thanks for the advice. I'm actually looking into getting a better camera soon as I get a few more subs. This was just filmed on a Go-pro lol.
