I use the standard Quiet in my back yard and at 25-30 yards they move along but can't cycle my Ruger 10/22 so it becomes a single shot. Same for my Beretta 92 22lr. Great option for shooting when you want to stay off the neighbor's radar.

I am a big fan of the cci quiet loads. One of my favorite plink rounds. For yrs i had used CB shorts then longs eventually the quiets came along. I think they are a little bit louder with the slightly bigger charge to push the 40 gr instead the 29gr. at the same 710fps. The cb's are also just enough to not really need much or any hearing protection depending on surroundings. A bunch of cb long ammo and my 6 inch model 17 s&w was a fine use of a warm afternoon plinking around the yard. No empty shotshell or milk cap was safe.

I've played around with this series for a couple of years. The higher velocity quiets and 970 fps cci suppressor round are the way to go on a semiautomatic. I run them in a dpms panther I've made a designated 22 using a cmmg conversion bolt and mag. For a little extra on the noise reduction check out the Ar-stoner linear compensator. I run one on my setup. Its threaded 1/2x 28 and it projects all gases forward. It tones down the perceived noise even more and you can snag one for $30-40 at the most. A great little compliment for a legal "can" for this round.

Brilliant as always Buffalo thanks. Moderators are used widely in the UK for most calibres. Not required by law, but it is entered on your Firearms Certificate. I find with 22lr rounds such as the CCI supersonics that the moderator makes no difference to noise level. Silence being paramount in pest control, I use Norma Subs at about 980fps. The only "noise" is the action, and the target being hit. Minimum disturbance is essential. Good to 100 yards with holdover out of a CZ457. Very tight groups on paper at all ranges up to 125 yards. I am dreading the lead ban, already tried Norma "Eco". Accurate but the crack makes pest control a joke, shoot one rabbit and the rest disappear. Always enjoy your honest and down to earth videos.

I love all of these. It’s a terrible addiction now. Its unbelievable how quiet they actually are. I also have some that are like 1050, but I haven’t seen the one at 835, but I will look for some. I had a little better luck accuracy wise with the segmented out of my BMR Bergara. I like it for shooting pest without bothering anyone or spooking the horses. I like that it is less likely to ricochet too. I used to use a 17 HMR for that purpose, but at close ranges, this does the job much more quietly. I can also tell you that 7 year olds enjoy shooting the original quiet as well. They are just great products. Thanks for the video.

This was a nice fun to watch & very informative video that is very enjoyable to see. I haven’t got the segmented version yet, I had a chance to but decided the other two are plenty for us(my sons & I). The semi auto run well in everything we have & are very accurate for $5 a box of 50. The 710fps quiet we have found runs well in my CZ 457 28” Jaguar 1/2x28, 1976 Remington 572 pump, 1968 Wards Westerfield 87a, 1949 Remington 550-1 and of course my revolvers. Your chrono data is very informative & helpful. Thanks for your work here. Nice to know passing on the segment variety wasn’t a poor decision. The semi auto is really good(my go to) especially for our older match pistols, it runs flawlessly! It’s fun out of our 1982 Marlin model 60, 1943 Winchester 74, & Ruger 10/22. We agree, freedom is the greater good!

Always great videos and reviews thank you. The quiet are my go-to for backyard shooting especially with my 2 Marlin 39a rifles. But on top of that when using the high velocity rounds in those guns I load one or two quiet at the end in the tube to keep me from dry firing on the last round. You can definitely tell when you're at the end. I also do the same for my Marlin 60s when using the high velocity as needed in them since they are older and do not have a last-round hold open and I'm terrible at keeping count.

It's great that you're making this content. Well done. It can't be stressed enough how quiet CCI Quiet is compared to any .22lr subsonic I've ever tried (never tried it in the newer semiauto version). It's not even close. In a bolt action rile in an outdoor environment it was shockingly quiet. I found accuracy to be poor, even out of some high end rifles. At 25 yards you could hit just about any reasonably sized target, if shooting pests, head shots wouldn't be a problem - BUT - at 750ish fps with a 40gr bullet the trajectory, which is a crack up, along with the loss of accuracy versus your favorite ammo makes 50yd shots a little iffy. I would say a tennis ball would be in trouble but a ping pong ball might be a real challenge. You could body shoot a large pest at that distance I guess, but that's a questionable thing to do (unless you're being attacked by zombie rabbits or something similar). Remember, this is .22 air gun territory, 550 to 850fps with about a 13gr bullet, but you're lobbing a projectile that's triple the weight at 750fps. I prefer my old RWS air rifle if I need to be super quiet (it's maybe even quieter!) but being able to shoot all of my old bolt action, lever, slide action and single shots with a safe backstop without people knowing or being bothered is a great thing. Absolutely no need to wear any type of ear protection either

Appreciate the info Buffalo!! I guess I should have been using paper when I was testing. Have extensively played around with the CCI CB shorts. I think they're actually a little quieter then the CCI Quiets. Can regularly connect at 40 yards with its 29 grain bullet. That's single loading them in an AR7 autoloader. They run extremely well out of my Rossi pump that's designed for 22 short. The CCI Quiets have been tougher to find in my area. The CCI CBs are fine for taking care of problem rabbits in the Garden. The CCI CB shorts will pass through half inch plywood at reasonable distances. For problem raccoons or foxes, if you're going to use 22LR, the new CCI Quiet 45 grain is probably the way to go. Appreciate all you do sir!!

Been watching a number of your videos and honestly it is the video of this nature that is a little off the beaten path but gives straight up no BS information and an honest personal opinion that had me just hit the subscribe button. Making videos that covers relevant products and topics relating to rimfires that others are not covering in depth is exactly what we need, not just another rehash that is saying the same thing as 20 other channels. This ammo seems excellent for close in quiet varmint/pest control and we all know how something shoots or groups out of one rifle may mean little when shot out of a different platform. The Henry or really any .22lr lever action and these ammo's at 25yards and less for smaller critter control seems like a match made for each other if noise has a bearing on your shooting location. Also should be able to pretty easily with the lighter tension bolt return springs available be able to tune a 10/22 to cycle the pretty reliably also. For non match everyday .22lr plinking and field hunting ammo CCI is hard to beat overall for performance/cost.

It shoots them tight in one hole groups at about 25 yards like your bolt gun did and I use those rounds to dispatch varmints in my yard and keep noise low for the neighbors. Those rounds work surprisingly well at close ranges.

Good job, thank you. I would recommend you try the CCI suppressor .22.. I think they may be more accurate then what you shot today. They feature a 45gr HP at 970 FPS. Still subsonic and very quiet.

Loved the video, and thank you for making it! I picked up 20 boxes or so of the segmented HP last month for $3 per at my pawn shop, they just couldn't move the stuff. I was awfully curious and impressed with the results. I also had to cycle every shot out of my 10/22, and pistol. The noise reduction was impressive. I'm going to have to try them out of a revolver, but I doubt there'd be much, if any noise reduction on account of the cylinder gap. Well now I have another reason to have a lever action .22

Just watched this one, and Part II, today, but no sooner than I watched them back to back, I had some tree trimming to do. Now I'm back, and want to comment. Thanks for this two-part series, Buffalo. It was *very* helpful. I'm wanting to upgrade from an air rifle to deal with squirrels in my pecan tree, but I live within city limits. So I was thinking quiet ammo in a 10/22 carbine. Some time back I bought some boxes of the Aguila Colibrí rounds ( the "regulars" at 420 fps, not the Super ones) and have used them on rats and possums. (We may live in the city, but we keep chickens and quail and rabbits and garden.) The Colibrí rounds are no louder than a cap gun, and worked okay on rats, but took a couple of rounds to dispatch a possum (those varmints have a tough hide). BTW, I fired those rounds through a Ruger Wrangler from around 6' away.. So I started searching for info/videos on quiet ammo with some actual gunpowder in the casing. I knew about CCI Quiets, so I started my search with that. And, Lo! And Behold! Buffalo came through for me. I was thinking of using the Quiet-22 stuff in a 10/22 carbine, so I'll probably go with some of the Semi-Auto version. Thanks for this.
