Long time watcher of your videos Iain. Enjoy them very much and seeing how China has developed since I was last there in 2010 with my family. A wonderful experience in a great country. Btw, an old (1980) Aussie Cancer Council ad campaign against skin cancer recommended: Slip, Slop, Slap ie. slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat. There was a great jingle with you can easily find on Google. They've now added seek some shade and slide on some sunglasses. Unfortunately, we have the highest rate of skin cancer in the world - not a podium we want to be on. On this video I give you 3/5! As my Scottish Mum (from Troon, Glasgow) would say "lang may yer lum reek, Iain".

Hi Ian, thank you for following long and watching the videos. Things have changed a lot in my time here so I can imagine what it was like back in 2010z I think I remember hearing about that ad campaign on TV even here in the U.K. (it might have been on the Clive James show)… But you are so right, I didn’t have a hat (I had some sunscreen) - it was an amateur mistake especially now that I am not to effective with the hair coverage up top. 😂… Aye, lang may yer ayne lum reek tae!

@@ForAllLifesAdventures Cheers Iain. I have what my boys lovingly refer to as a "solar panel" on the top of my scone! I also suffer from a "Scottish tan" ie. go in the sun, turn lobster red, then back to lily white (or is it pale blue as Billy Connolly would say?).

That is the Botanic Garden building that we had hoped to see but it was closed - it looks very cool, we will need to go back to see it when it reopens.

Hi Iain, this is not very far from my place. But I've never been there for the same reason as the Summer Place. I think I can always go there sometime, so I prioritize other places (since plenty to visit in Beijing and around) and end up not going there. By the way, try Haidian Park next time.

Hi Dwi, you should go and visit this park for sure. I was impressed by it and even though the botanical garden area was closed there was still a lot to do and see. 👍🏼 I will try Haidian Park next time I head out that way. BTW, that is a beautiful part of Beijing to live at ✌️

I would recommend that 👍 Beijing is so huge… you could stay and explore one quarter of it and that would keep you very busy for sure.

@@ForAllLifesAdventures It's huge indeed. I do some hiking on the wild parts of the great wall from time to time, it's like over an hour away from the edge of the city but it's still within Beijing's borders. I'd highly recommend it if you haven't done it already.

@@lzl4226 I have been to some wild wall areas and loved them. I stayed in a small local boutique hotel near a part of the wall, and it was an awesome experience. There was also good hiking. I have some videos about the trips up on the channel.

Can you do a video about the pretty much non-existent "Social credit system". My friends in the west are obsessed with it and this its fully true and that its a system that dictates peoples lives everyday

@@ForAllLifesAdventures Yes, really frustrating and also I think just for our metnal well-being I think it is hard as an expat living in china to see such hatred and lies against china daily on social media and channels like the China show/Seprentza. It's sickening

@@TBone-xr3xu It is so apparent when you see it, but the people back home and elsewhere swallow it whole. I met a couple who were in China for the first time and they were so surprised and amazed at everything... they were actually scared when they booked their trip but upon arrival, they quickly realised they had been told a lot of lies.
