We're continuing our journey towards the Yukon Territory in search of wildfire Morel mushrooms. In this episode we explore the edge of the Muskwa wilderness near Muncho lake before spotting a moose in the amazing Liard river hot springs park.

I agree. I always wear pants while in the woods.I was always told to pick Chaga in the winter because the nutritional value was higher. If that is wrong, please let me know.

Winter harvesting for Chaga is definitely better overall, but Spring harvesting is also fine. The main downside to Spring harvesting Chaga, besides visibility etc, is that the sap is flowing so the Chaga will have more water in it. So if you looking at fresh Chaga then it will have a lower water content in the Winter (so it will be more potent fresh), but since we dry everything we harvest that isn't much of a factor. I've search for years to find a credible study about it but haven't been able to.

This series is a blast so far! I might have to figure out how to get to Mancho Lake from Texas to tour the area and camp. Absolutely stunning region I never knew existed. One of my favorite things about your videos is the music you guys have made. It perfectly sets the tone for each episode and the style of video you are doing and is just downright good! I find myself humming the guitar a lot. Keep up the great work, Phil! Your timing of videos is about to coincide with the North Texas morel season so each week I get more and more excited.

That region of the Northern Rockies is really beautiful and pristine. Thanks Neal, appreciate the comments. Glad you like my guitar playing, a lot of the music starts while sitting around the fire in mushroom camp.

Great scenery Phil... Spent my first 50 in boring flat Indiana,,, been in Colorado for the last 8. The last 14teener in Northern CO is right out my window, Longs Peak. We do tons of road trips and see some amazing sites, but you guys are in the sticks for sure...
