Never sure why people say that squier are good for beginners, they’re good for anyone, newcomer or experienced musicians, I’ve played squires for years, I’ve recorded with them etc , lovely guitars, I’ve just added this flame maple one to my collection, and I’m far from a beginner ,

I just got the blue Affinity today and was blown away by how perfect a guitar can be for under $250! Nut height was perfect, action was to exact printed Fender specs, finish was flawless, and it’s a beautiful metallic blue that pics don’t do justice! Neck straight and clean, fret ends were smooth….Tone was awesome, and when not playing, it was DEAD QUIET! No hum, no buzz…nothing! My only issue was some difficulty threading the trem bar in straight….after a few turns in and out, it threaded properly. Two wraps of teflon tape on the trem threads made it perfect! I’ve been playing a Gibson SG for 30 years, and now I realized how badly I was missing out on that Strat tone! it really scratches an itch I didn’t know I had! I can’t recommend the Affinity highly enough. This guitar was a total steal for under $250!

When you buy a guitar like this you do it to learn and get better. You learn more techniques when you hear your mistakes. You need to use this to learn your scales and build good dexterity. It’s important to be able to build tone recognition in your ear so you can play by ear too. As you get better you move up levels and then it’s a search for YOUR tone

I have a charcoal hss with a white pick guard and vintage white pups and knobs. It had something fall and hit it so I decided it could be the base for my partscaster build so I distressed the body paint and added a loaded black HSH pick guard and knobs I got from Temu. It looks so good and sounds twice as good as I expected it would.

I bought my charcoal HH and I got to say that I love it, for the price I think it's a good option, not only for beginners but also for a more experienced guitarist, you always have to look at the adjustments for the best playability depending on your region, but besides that, it's a very pleasing guitar to play.

I’ve been playing an Aerodyne Stratocaster and just got a Squier Strat HSS as my guitar I can travel and not worry much about dings and scratches. But upon receiving it I’m amazed at how good this guitar is, with the high quality production and great feel. Until you actually play a Squier hold your judgement!

20 years ago I bought a 2003 Squier Affinity Strat in Aztec Gold. Limited edition, apparently. Heavily discounted (almost half price), it had been sitting in the shop for a year. Still my daily driver, great guitar.

Okay...I got the HH and thought it would be my stage back up guitar to my $900 PRS SE. The Squier is now my Stage guitar and my PRS Is back up. I'm even thinking about getting SSS Affinity and using them both on stage. These are really precise instruments and you can't beat the price or Quality!!!

Good pickups will sound great however. But yes it sounded terrible that first part he switched it on because these pickups just aren’t that great

@@adriansvarela it's not the pick ups. I watched a video-review that fender made about the bullet strats and they were using a cheap fender amp so they could show that you don't need to spend too much money to sound good. In this video that they are featuring the affinity strats that don't have a big difference in price with the bullets. they are probably using a cheap amp again.

@@hoh0ba926 I owned a Fender bullet back in the late 80s and the pickups were terrible just humming nearly as loudly as they notes being played, sorry to say. Some people get these and go for MIM pickups which are really good, then you're good to go :)

I just bought a charcoal one with HSS got it really cheap and it's brand new, I don't think anybody even played it and the plastic was still on all the parts even the back of the tuners had the plastic on them. I had to file one of the Frets a little bit and set it up but once that was done it plays the balls and it sounds great.

I got the charcoal frost HH last December. It sounds great. Just hard tailed it and stuck fender locking tuners on it. It’s off for a set up, fret dress and a tusq nut.

Got my HH charcoal in March 2022 and still haven't sent it in for setup. Still playing on the original strings lol. But I play with the Vox metal amplug and it's awesome

@@dannycoulter7518 The Vintage Modified are an older series. The were replaced by the Contemporary Series. The Vintage Modified line was right in line with the Classic Vibe in terms of build quality. From what I’ve seen the newest models the Contemporary Series are just as good. It’s just like with the American lines if vintage style is what you’re after the American Originals are the models for you and if you want/need more modern specs then the American Ultra is for you.

He said in the video that the pickups in these Squiers were Fender pickups , which Fender pickups ? These Single coil fender pickups, which model ? I have seen several different Fender pickups, my fav Fender single coil pickups are the Fender "SCN" Samarium Cobalt Noiseless. So which single coil pickups from Fender is in the Affinity series ? Many of these Squiers here sounds kind of bad when playing distorted chords It may be the players choosing of chords which does sound kinda bad, but as soon as you play single notes or solos with the same distortion they sound great.

I prefer a light body as i have damage to disks in my neck so dont like alot of weight around it. These new affinity sound and look great. I have the HSS version in candy apple red. I also have a China Squire i bought new in 2001 only thing i changed was the pickups it now has pups from a fender standard indonesian. Which are loads better. And i have a squire standard indonesian with Tonerider City Limits pickups. But out of all them i'll tell you no lies i LOVE the neck profile on my 2001 chinese strat the most its a very sleek neck and done to a very good standard too no sharp fret edges etc. Now im wanting a lake placid blue squire just not sure which model yet?. I do like the maple neck on the affinity strat in the video.

hate to say this but it really does sound like that in person. I tried out the fmt hss strat at guitar center and tbh its pickups are worse then the previous hss affinity.

@@preston_4824 I played one at GC too, maybe you just need to dial the distortion down a bit. You can't go balls to the wall with a single coil like you would a humbucker, as is apparent with this video.

The NWG movement has finally arrived. Years ago an inexpensive guitar was a cheap guitar that couldn’t gig and was a beginner guitar. The N.W.G. New World Guitar has entered the building. So many brands making guitars under $300 that used to cost over $500

I am DROOLING over the FMT HSS. I tried learning on an acoustic as a kid and my fat, stubby fingers couldn't fret the strings properly. I need to find a shop with this beauty and see if I could learn on it.

Finally with 1.65" nut width. The older Affinity with 1.6" nut width was a deal breaker for me.

The neck has no maple cap, like my old Squier 51', and almost same C shape. Just needs a fret level and dress, then will be perfect.

I've got the HH configuration charcoal stratocaster. It's very good. I also play it with a Vox Amplug metal version and it sounds great 👍

I still prefer squier bullet over fenders, the neck is 43mm which is wider than affinity, still more comfortable than fenders, I love fenders though. Amazing company, the craftsmanship in the Far East seems to me reached the best. Very very nice 👍

I know it's a 2 years old comment, but to be precise Squier Bullet's necks are 42 mm wide and the current Affinity line which is presented in this video also have 42 mm wide necks.

I don't like making negative comments, but they sound this bad on a professional setup, in a video made by the company itself, that not very encouraging. They look beautiful, I hope the issue lied in the amps and effects used
