A lot of people can't separate Greg's "character" from Greg, which is understandable, but he's been pretty damn transparent about his steroid use. So many of these others are lying through their veneers.

The discussion on where is it acceptable to hit on someone now is very real. The world feels very corporate/anti flirt/anti masculine like men can't try their luck and need to supress ourselves to not be "freaks" but then we end up single and alone because there is no suitable setting anymore

Quashing masculine behaviours which hurt men also hurt women by extension. They've got the right to TELL you what is acceptable to do just as much as you're entitled to ignore it and flirt/show sexual intent toward a woman who captures your interest. Inhibiting yourself will only legitimise those artificial and dumb social customs.

Echo Greg's advice on the way you feel trying to maintain single digit body fat percentages. I went through a large amount of weight loss through a combination of diet and exercise and it triggered all kinds of things in the process. The worst of all was the fixation with getting down to single digit body fat and staying there. I achieved it - and then kept going. I had very, very, very little fat on me and I felt terrible. I was cold all the time. I couldn't comfortably sit on any surface, even a soft plush couch. I had no energy and a constant brain fog. I sustained it for the better part of a year because in my head, I was healthy. For context - I'm 6'4" and started out in excess of 360 lbs (I don't know my exact starting weight as I was too embarrassed to get on a scale, even with nobody around). As I was losing weight, I felt really good at about 220lbs - but kept losing. As a boxing fan, I kept seeing if I could get down to the next weight class - and I got all the way down to Jr. Middleweight. For non-boxing folk, that's 154 lbs. Yes - 6'4 and 154 lbs - and I thought I was healthy. After over a year of literally dragging myself around, falling asleep at random times of the day, being unable to focus, having to wear layers of clothes in the summer to not feel like I would freeze to death - I decided I needed to go back up. Here's the flip side to getting lean - adjusting your mindset to intentionally gain weight, which does also mean adding fat to your body, is INCREDIBLY difficult to wrap your mind around. I started by increasing my caloric intake - with a plan to gradually increase over a period of months. It's not healthy to go from barely enough to survive to a regular diet - so I planned carefully. For the first few weeks, my daily intake only increased by 100-200 calories. Then every 3-4 weeks the plan was to jump by another 100-200 calories until I was at a normal intake. What I found was that I kept punishing myself for eating more - sometimes that was an extra gym session in the evening. Sometimes it would be spending my lunch break walking as far as possible within the time frame. As a result, my caloric intake dropped because I couldn't flip the switch that it was ok to gain weight. Eventually, that mindset broke and I worked my way back up to where I had previously felt the healthiest - roughly 220 lbs. Long and rambling - but a cautionary tale to anyone who thinks being as lean as possible is either healthy or sustainable. Don't do it. Not only will you feel terrible and struggle to function normally - but mentally it will never be low enough and you'll keep chasing a leaner and leaner physique.

You made me chuckle regarding other men appreciating a good body. I hadn't seen some good friends in years and met up for a drink in an old haunt . ( Quiet local pub ) Towards the end up the night a random bloke in his twenties interrupted our conversation and blurted out that I had a nice body ! Very strange

Hi Rob and Gregg. This was way more profound than anticipated. Not just about the fitness industry but relationships and life. we have to be clear and honest with ourselves about the version of us we’d be happy with. That’s a major problem in society. A tiny number of deaths have anything to do with steroids. Whereas the number one cause of death in men 18-40 is suicide. Hence where the convo went. The struggle to be happy with who we are, or the journey to be who we want to be. A society can’t be based on emotions. Hence people are crying out for authentic, honest, good role models. 1:54:01 what a fantastic well reasoned response to the question about depression. We must think on a spectrum not labels and categories as that becomes someone’s identity. “I have depression” is different from “I’m currently feeling depressed”. Very emotionally intelligent guy.

Agree. I’ve been around gyms and steroid users for decades - I don’t know a single guy that has died from their abuse. I’m not claiming they don’t have side effects but the notion that “steroids are killer drugs” is vastly exaggerated

Been following Greg for many years, it still baffles me how many people say that Greg cant separate yelling "you're a moron" Greg character to the real Greg! Don't hate the player, hate the game!
