I cannot believe how many views these videos get. I've never seen anything like it. The "repairs" are so clearly just filmed out of order and then just edited in a way which makes it look chronological.
I know initially I said I wasnt going to upload this, but it turns out this video is about a different channel doing the same thing so it doesnt feel so targeted.
Hope you enjoy!

Err this isn't fake, this was my grandads 3ds. He took it with him to Normandy when he fought in WW2. The crater on the outer shell is actually from a Nokia 3310 that German infantry launched at him on DDay. He kept the 3DS in his front pocket and it saved his life. The blown out screen was my fault, I set the 3D slider too high. Grandad was piiiiissed with me. Love you G-pa, r.i.p

The worst thing (for me) about these fake repair videos is that the item could have been legitimately restored. They could have gotten that 3ds and actually restored it and made a video of themselves doing it. But instead they fake the restoration and in reality completely destroy the 3ds in the process to the point that it can never be restored. That 3ds still had life, it worked, It could have made someone happy for several more years to come and now it's just garbage.

The thing is, that 3DS costs maybe 100$, but 1 million views will generate approximately 2000$ ad revenue. So it is far less time consuming and profitable for them to just record a working 3DS and then wreck the thing. The KZfaq hustle is tough at times.

It’s really sad, it reminds me of my first ever 3ds I had which was pink. I recently had to let go of my pink 3ds months ago, bc well I had a bit of Oopsies in the 8 years of having it and one last very accidental oopise happened and I figured I better let it go and transfer my data to my other 3ds atleast. It hurt a bit bc I got it as a gift for my 10th birthday, and as I got older I wanted to keep it nice and at that point I was 18, that 3ds was so sentimental to me I was really sad to see it go. which is why those types of those obviously ridiculous “restoration“ videos hit hard, (not in a good way).

The biggest offender for me here is that there's absolutely nothing to learn from these videos. You in your vids explain everything. You actually share the knowledge and techniques of different methods that actually work not only for little handhelds but are quite handy for general maintenance of various electronic devices. Yet there's this dude who's done basically nothing, recorded it and haphazardly slammed some clips together and that's it. What did we learn from that? Don't paint your electronics with mud? I used to work at a Nintendo service centre here in farlington in the UK and can confirm the pad is there to determine if the console board has been exposed to water, and in all cases where it is pink it will void the warrenty and (at least when I worked there) would incur the largest repair charge. Great vid BTW :) Edit: what is interesting, at least to me lol, is that in some of the red dslite shells used to sometimes get a very odd bubbling effect on the case behind the screen, which only seemed to happen on some of the red ds lites, nothing like the whole they made in this ds ofc but for some reason it reminded me of the very odd red ds lites we used to take in, one of the few strange repair jobs alongside the countless broken hinges lol

I don’t buy the “they’re poor so scams are fine” mentality. If they wanna say it’s purely for entertainment or something fine, but clearly they’re not so poor that they can’t afford all the tools, cameras, devices, etc it would take to *actually* restore something, even if it wasn’t back to pristine quality. But then it wouldn’t be quite so viral. It’s obvious why they do it. But the soft bigotry of low expectations towards poor people is still bigotry.

The main difficulty in restoring something is the time expense and the skill, like you can damage and ruin a lot of things inadvertently when repairing, i think it took me a while until i got good at it; you can see that they can't even bloody hold the tweezers correctly, they have literally no idea how not to rip a flex, or how to handle screws so you don't crossthread them. Then again if they ask around they'd find a neighbour who maybe knows their way around things? Maybe? Or maybe everyone who has that sort of skill has made it off from these sorts of places and has a better job? In a low wage society, actually being able to repair stuff is a substantially more valuable skill than on our bits of the planet. Just recently i murdered a Discman clone while trying to reverse engineer its headphone amp circuit. Whoopsie. Though it wasn't any good or valuable anyway, so well.
@heyspookyboogie644
@heyspookyboogie644 Жыл бұрын
@@SianaGearz not only would it be a more valuable skill in their area, but I’m sure if they were actually putting any effort into it, they could do a lot better even at their current skill level. It looks atrocious because they don’t care to actually repair it. They want to put out as many videos as quickly and easily as they can to capitalize on viral trends.

12:08 Good thing it's an LED, which is a light-emitting-_diode._ After all, a diode's purpose is to only allow electricity to pass through just one way, and it prevents it from passing through the other way.
@SianaGearz
@SianaGearz Жыл бұрын
But the problem is that you're reverse biasing other components that are electrically connected to the LED. There wouldn't be any directly in parallel, but there are paths to both rails, so they will be reverse biased. Though at the current this meter can inject, in 3DS in particular, nothing will probably actually take damage. But there's plenty of other devices where you better think twice about probing.
