John: I wish to write a piece for this man whom I will refer to as Hero!! deserving of the title as he gave everything to save fellow Americans on that mountain. His wife understands why he did what he did, his daughters know their father is a special man, one whom sacrificed himself for others. No greater cause than to give your life for another. This Hero is deserving of the Congressional Medal of Honor by far, this nation owes a debt we can never repay. This selflessness at it's best. John I am brother to you, having served in the Air Force but at an earlier time, I did not die in my service as it was peacetime, we were under a different threat, not bullets but ICBM's during the cold war. I can not nor will I try to place myself at the same level you were at John. I am grateful that you chose to put on the chevrons of the Air Force, but more grateful you decided to place yourself in harms way and give your life for what we call freedom. Freedom is never free John, and now we must go on knowing you loved your fellow man so much you would die for them. I can't wait to see you in heaven Sir!!! Normal those of us that served as Non-Commissioned Officers did not like people calling us Sir, however it is my privilege and honor to call you Sir!! Rest in Peace my brother!!

I believe that's his comrades fled like cowards leaving Chapman behind without even checking his vitals to see if he was alive or dead they just look like they wanted to get the f*** out of there unfortunately that remarkable hero of a man John Chapman was still alive and even though he was left upon that mountain top he still battle the enemy to save his comrades that had left him that's just my opinion I don't mean to offend anybody buy it but I've been in fighting situations where the same as happened to me I was left behind I wouldn't say by coward but by guys that didn't want to face the odds that's what separates a true hero from a dire need a paycheck working for the war department

Look close at the full video. Seal team 6 abandoned and left Chapman for dead. Team leader Slabinski called his unit off and lead them down the mountain leaving him 100% alone.

DevGru and all their books and accolades screwed operation Anaconda...too many men gave their lives. Two CAG (Delta) missions were denied by the brass before Anaconda. But to leave his body just bc there was bullets flying was pretty unexceptable. Why was he leading the SEALs and a SEAL officer behind him as well as other DevGru members. A SEAL officer "declared" Chapman dead and he couldnt have been more wrong. Why didnt he shoulder his brother and carry him out of that bunker? Probably still be alive today bc he took 16 bullets in the end. When he was unconscious he had been shot I believe 4 soooo
