This is a really great show for french learners. They speak at a reasonable pace, but not so slowly that they sound like robots or the news. The content is actually kind of funny in my opinion, and they don't use ridiculous vocabulary. Overall, I love it. It's great for me since I'm pretty good at reading and writing but not so much speaking, listening, and conversing. This show should help with that. EDIT: if anyone yas any suggestions for similar shows.. please let me know =)

I agree. It's corny. I put this show to my students and they don't like it at all. The two girls are totally stupid, the American guy is dumb and the French guy is ridiculous. It is not only corny: it's sexist, shallow, unspontaneous and it does not help students at all because the characters speak an unnatural French.

I don't care about the french anymore. I'm hooked by the exiting plot, waiting for the final twist when you then discover that, in reality, Sasha is Sam's mother, Annie had a past in pornography and an addiction to glue sniffing (even though only 19, apparently), while Nico is their jailer, drug trafficking cocaine from Colombia. Ok, ok...I need to calm down with Netflix. I know, I know...

I'm really liking this show and the characters are endearing. I like the slow French. I'm 46 and watching the scene where Nico is photo shopping himself is absolutely hilarious, brings back good memories. Reminds me of how we used to "burn" music onto CDs and how it would take FORVER!

I've been learning french for almost 2 and half months now and i can't understand without subtitles but I can read a decent bit through the subtitles. I love this so much! Such a great thing to watch when I need a little break from Duolingo or babbel.

I first came across this delightful series on daytime educational television. I must have been off sick from work that day. I love it. The French is colloquial and up to date. The grammatical and pronunciation points are integrated well into the story line.

Just realized I didn't get the nico thinking they are having sex or the "Tu veux voir mes raquettes" part when I saw this in my high school french class four years ago. Also i thought 19 is pretty old at the time yet here i am being 20 already. God how time flies.

Of course when this series was first aired, it was for television broadcast. There were no subtitles provided. You just had to listen and follow the context and the very physical acting to comprehend. It's really good immersion learning.

I do like this series. My French is dreadful, but I am taking lessons. "Extra" is fun and it is nice to find a series that speaks slowly, with silly humor. I am finding this very useful. Do you have other recommended shows that are at about the same level? Gosh, so many of the traditional French films are really hard to understand and I can only understand parts of the dialogs.

Merci beaucoup, Frenchy French; j'ai acheté les dvd's mais honnêtement, vos vidéos sont plus fiables pour mes classes de français I. Les soustitres sont essentiels pour la plupart d'élèves. S'il y avait une deuxième saison, hélas !
