Today was one of those surpise days, I had no intention of staying out all day, met a great lad on the trails called Dave and then ended up doing a 100 mile loop of buxton 🤣
we touched on some of, if not all of the best trails in the Peak district.

A good honest video of why we ride. It’s so very true that getting out on the bike clears your head and you dismiss any dramas that are going on in your life. Having a break from social media helps as well, the majority of people seem obsessed with it and can’t live without the likes of instagram or bloody facebook. All the best, Steve. 👍

Thanks for your words Steve, you're bang on mate. We live in a time where as a people we've never been more connected, but at the same time never been more alone and isolated. The great paradox of this thing we call 'social' media. I've never been greatly attached to it to be honest, but deleting it all felt great, just taking back that little bit of personal power. This channel deserves more than the amount of subscribers it's got, great of you to be so open. I've recently acquired a T7, down in the sunny south of Dorset. The trails up north look unrivalled and you've got a brilliant riding style in that size of bike

I don't make these video to chase numbers, dude, I make them so lads like yourself can enjoy them, showing different areas and lanes with a big daft bike that's too heavy to show what can and can't be done, as you already know being a T7 owner 😂 yeah you need to book a weekend and get up north! The question is, where do you go first???? 🤔😆

Which trail is charity Lane, please mate? I don't believe I've heard of that one. You say it's your nemesis, have you cleared it yourself yet? It's good to be out there and pushing yourself, that's how we learn!

Really admire and appreciate the openness / honesty at the beginning of the video, am glad you've been able to get out and get some bike time, I know it always does me the world of good. Beautiful words mate thank you very much 🙏 I don't have a big audience, but certainly a quality audience. If my videos bring to joy to one other person it makes it all worth while 😊 Bikes literally are therapy! Because you're in that flow state, there's no room for anxiety and dark thoughts, it's you, the bike and the next obstacle... it really has no comparison! But yeah, I was unsure about posting the first 20 minutes and how it would land as its not really the place or the audience to be airing my mental laundry too 😂 but what I have found over the last years is that it's really good to talk about it, it let's people know they're not alone in feeling this certain way. 🫶🏼 Thank you, mate, your words have made my day!

Cool. Did a lot of those trails a few weeks back on my Himalayan. Good fun. Gets pretty mental coming out of three shires! A lot of grounding out on the Himalayan. 👍😊 Big up the Dave 👊

Hey Robin, thanks for watching, mate 🙏 it's better to watch videos of trails you know, as you have a real perspective of the actual trail condition, camera flattens everything off so much! Yeah, it's fantastic in the Peaks. As long as you can take the snarls and aggressive tones from the walkers, you'll have a great time!

@@lewsdirtbikedays that's true pal, the camera does make everything look flat lol I wear an open face helmet so when i say ' ey up or morning' to them they get to see my face and grey beard 🧔 but I still get some ignorant people , most are ok and happy tho ☺

Great vid... I was looking at doing a few lanes around that area, a long weekend kind of thing. Some of them look a bit beyond my skill level (& on a KTM 390 ADV!) , but may give them a try soon.

Thanks for watching, dude 🙏 I would certainly try them out mate, you'd be really missing out if you didn't. I think all the lanes on this route are doable on most ADV bikes really, with a bit of confidence and the right tyres 😉 you might well surprise yourself. But it's good now and again to get outside your comfort zone, get the heart pumping a bit. This route would be perfect for one of your day rides for sure, the li k is in the description for the GPX for you to use as you like.

Unfortunately, the video quality isn't the same as the most recent ones, I started filming the T7 on an old gopro hero 4, so hopefully you can enjoy the first ones as much as the new ones, the new DJI action 3 camera really brings the video quality to a whole new level. Nice one Mark, I think most of us lock our feelings in and don't reach out and speak enough, that's where the problem starts, but the stronger the feelings get, the less we want to talk about it. Its a massive paradox! 😞 thanks, man That lane is just at the top of Macclesfield forest mate. It's a decent lane. Not far from buxton old road. 🫶🏼

Yeah I'm good mate, thank you, ive always had battles with my thoughts for as long as i can remember, somedays are better than others, and im still learning not to let my thoughts consume me. Easier said than done, but were all work in progress arent we. Just keep plodding on. Nice one for commenting and watching dude 🫶🏼

Nice one mate, yeah I agree, it's not talked about openly enough. I did think whether or not to delete all beginning where inwas talking about it as I was thinking maybe this isn't the place to be talking about it and this isn't what people come to my videos for... but then I thought, "What's the worst that can happen" and if it helps one other person feel like they're not battling alone, then it can only be a good thing by keeping it in. I feel it adds a bit of humility to what is otherwise just a faceless lad riding a bike 😆 thanks dude 🙏

It's quite literally a life changing book for many people, me included! Makes me reflect on my emotions a bit more, and really feel my feelings, and I'm learning to pause in the moment and carefully consider my reactions... I've also been reading Epictetus' discourses, which is where Marcus learned a lot from previously, Ryan Holliday's daily Stoic is really good too. Hey, thanks for watching dude, appreciate it 🙏

That means alot mate, I appreciate your kind words, thank you 🙏 I'm extremely fortunate to have a very supportive family mate to be honest, and when my head gets particularly cloudy, my Mrs give me a little nudge towards my bike 😂 she's a good egg. Yeah I agree, the bike is the best therapy tool for sure, that flow state is a good reset for the emotions when you're right on the ragged edge, cliché but that's the time you really actually feel alive 🙏 Thanks for watching dude, and thank you for your support 🫶🏼

😊 yeah I was okay after the crash in Chirk, thank you mate, just work and weekends with the kids meant the bike had to sit for a while battered and bruised, but we're all good now. Be back out again in a few weeks so will have another video out then 👍 thanks for watching 🤙🏻

Cheers, pal. Yes, mate, it's still a mod I want to do for sure, and is at the top of my list, but won't be affordable for me any time soon mate. Bike is due sprockets, chain and bearings first before any new Mods 😢

I have been using it less and less over the last 6 months but just needed to cut ties with it completely so I can start a fresh.... my head feels much lighter without it all mate I'll be honest ✌🏻

😊 Nice one Kyle 🫶🏼 I think the camera makes me look better than actually am buy I'll take the compliment 😉 yeah mate, mainly enduro, the odd bit of motocross over the years, just general pissing about on bikes over the last 15 or so years... all of my experience is offroad though, this is actually my first road bike belive it or not 😂

@@lewsdirtbikedays that makes sense. I have come the opposite way, my GS is my first off road bike. I recently bought an old wr450 and marshalled at a local enduro event on it, it's safe to say I'm no enduro rider 😂

😆 to be fair, most new enduro bikes are about the same price or more than this now, especially the KTM/Husky bikes. But the little bikes aren't any fun, nothing really feels like a challenge on them... plus the fact you need a van or trailer + car to ferry it around. Hi Steve. This lane is just west of a town called Froggatt, on its way towards Eyam via Eyam hall. This lane turns off the B6001 and runs up to the B6521. Quite steep and lose, video doesnt donit justice as standard 😅 ive attatched a link to the route on my outdoor active account where all of my other routes are 👌 sub to the channel please dude if you like the videos.
