Hi Folks.
Thought I'd try something a little different today and do a section if the TET, trans euro trail, that I've been wanting to do for a while. its the Peak district section starting in Congleton, Staffordshire, and 99.2 miles later, finishing north east on top of Sheffield.
wasn't a fan of this route to be fair, or the walkers and bikers that inhabit the area 😆 Trails were few and far between, rhw people were generally horrible, not my stayle of offroading, to be honest, would have liked a little more technicality to it like the Wales TET., it beggars can't be choosers. Anyway, here's the best anes of the trip. Enjoy.

Saw you yesterday heading to Houndkirk Moor, we had just finished walking the dogs and driving home. Have to admit, plenty of miserable folk out! I'm one of those who's says morning/afternoon to anyone I pass while out walking/riding on the lanes, but yesterday was unreal both my wife and daughter commented how ignorant people were! Anyway great video and riding, enjoyed watching it, picked my new T7 up 2 weeks ago loving it so far, still using my CRF250l for trails...for now ;-)

Yeah yesterday was bizarre in terms of interacting with folks on the lanes, don't really get that round Wales/Shropshire to be honest, so cought me off guard, just shows how bikers are constantly being discriminated against 👎

@33.23 there is a turn right and left both are ok to use - if you go right there is a super tech lane, downhill, loose rocks all the way - it is a dead end so you come back up and have the fun again and then carry on along houndkirk or take the other exit - edit: aaaaah, at the end of the video you took the left which is actually a right for you in the vid as you came back at it - anyway , if you go back there take the other direction of the 4 , well worth it

All it takes is a couple of nice people to restore your faith in human nature. Aw thanks very much mate, that maybe the longest comment has ever left me, I appreciate it mate, thank you 🙏 Glad you're enjoying the videos, is the Mrs fed up of me yet on the tele? 😂 I only ride the terrain I do is purely to show where these bikes can go with a very average, short arse, rider, I'm nothing special, just getting the message out there that people who own these big bikes shouldn't be afraid of taking them offroad as they're missing out on so much! Alot of it comes down to confide to and ability obviously, but the bike is more than capable as I've shown. Granted we're not all Pol Tarres, but we can be in our own little way 😉

@lewsdirtbikedays yeah, Pol Tarres makes it look so easy🤣At 5' 6" tall I'm curious how your feet sit on the floor🤔surely you must be on the balls of your feet? And does the world raid really feel lighter than the stock T7, lower down and not so top heavy? Cus that's what put me off the stock bike when I bought my 500x. Cheers😉

@ifindoubtbailout70 I can't actually touch the floor 🤣 I have to side saddle to touch the floor fully on one side. it's pretty hilarious! That's why most of my tumbles are when I come to an awkward stop and I can't touch the floor 🤣 I've dropped this at t junctions on the road and everything 😅 I've never actually ridden the OG T7, so I can't compare them but I'm told the Raid certainly feels lighter when on the move but it's a heavy beast when you stop, especially when it's full. But I really wouldn't have anything else, I love it to bits.

Off road i have many years riding cross country and enduro bycicles, love it, but for now the T7 if i took it offroad i feel it would be Like the firsr day of my first bike (FZR 1000 ) , took it from the dealer to the pump station and let it fall on the side 😄 . To be fair, this isn't adventure riding, this is trail riding which the UK is full of. You can't really 'adveture' anywhere in the UK as its so small and you're always so close to a village or town. Plus we dot have the freedoms to ride anywhere we want, we have designated legal trails we must stick to. I must disagree, the riding in the UK is far from boring.

We walkers prefer the peace and quiet of the countryside not disturbed by infernal combustion engines. However, you can at least hear them coming up behind, you unlike push bikes which arrive silently and without warning, pass too close and don't take into account that you might suddenly move to one side to walk on a smoother bit of the path. I refuse to keep looking behind me or walk off the path to make way. Pedestrians have the right of way.
@lewsdirtbikedays

If you're annoyed by motorcycles on the trails who also have a right to be there as much as you, then walk on one of the many other hundreds of bridleways in the area where there will be no motorbikes. Our rights of way are being depleted at a rapid rate unfortunately, so our byways are becoming less and less all the time, you you have to respect the fact that the trail you may be walking on could be the only byway left for us in that particular area. Plus the fact that us as trail riders pay a none profit organisation every year, the like of the TRF and GLASS, who actually repair and maintain our trails and fight councils traying to TRO them turning them into bridleways. I'm nice and polite with everyone I come across, I'm aware my bike is an annoyance to some people, but hey, we just have to accept it and make the passing as pleasant as possible. If I'm nice and respectful, I would expect the same response back on an intrinsic human level. But to be snarled and sneered at really pisses me off! The ignorance and arrogance of some people is astounding and completely unnecessary. But generally speaking, most people I pass on the trails are generally quite nice, some I even stop for a chat with, happy days, but it's the odd few that spoil it.

Thousands of miles of footpaths in Derbyshire alone to escape from the motorised fraternity, I should know, I am a walker, mountaineer and motorcyclist (offroad, green lane.) So there is absolutely no need to complain about noise if YOU CHOOSE to walk an ancient right of way which is called a Byeway to ALL traffic, BOAT for short. Learn to read a map and enjoy the silence that does exist elsewhere.
