🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Check this out Sonny. This guy shoots 8 pigs in the head with a go pro strapped to his head and you see the pigs squealing for their lives. But yet, the video is not demonetised. Time stamp at 9:00 minutes. : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rZt5lK91v5mpZ40.html

That’s the reason why I like this show so much. Because you’re not interviewing these people with some kind of pity or walking on eggshells. You joke around with them and are willing to try just about anything they’re willing to share with you. It blows the average documentary out of the water. Keep’em coming!

shout out to your video editing team: You're one of the few uploaders on KZfaq that not only uploads quality video files (larger sizes, longer upload times) *BUT ALSO* your team clearly knows how to use color correction correctly with digital footage. Major props! Hollywood doesn't even bother to do that anymore. It's so refreshing to see *Color* and not a grey hue over everything.

This is one of my fav series of BEFRS. After the nightmare in Egypt, this is such a relief. I absolutely loved the people of Tanzania and the tribes, amazing foods, Simpler life yet high in morale and value for their culture. I loved the Datoga tribe lifestyle, I wish I could become one of them, so far away from this chaotic technology and people running for money everyday out here

It’s so impressive how Somny started with just an ordinary camera in Korea doing grilled cheese sandwich reviews and now grew to super production quality like Andrew Zimmern on steroids episodes heavily edited it must take a crazy amount of manpower and editing as these shows are more than an hour long. Goes to show you just need to start somewhere and you can become a full time professional like Sonny going places where no food reviewer has been to in some cases. The sheer amount of progression from his first upload solo to a team to this point is crazy.

I support what you are doing. People need to see this. Especially westerners and americans like me. Everything is so clean packaged, and we only eat select parts. People here don't realize the types of things people eat in parts of the world that aren't modernized. In america the solution is just go to the store. They need to see what people who don't have that option do to prepare and preserve their food. As well as where it comes from. But it isn't just about that. Also the most interesting thing is to see just how different people's tastes are. Things one culture would never eat is the best part to eat for another culture. That shows me that you can learn to like anything if you eat it enough.

This is exactly the attitude and mentality that Sonny is trying to change with his channel. Those people are living the way they are because it is their culture and not because they don't have the option of buying what they need from a store. Tanzania has stores just like in the US and those people can afford anything they want

Honestly, I didn't find the Maasai way of "taking care of food" offensive. To me, bleeding out seems to be a longer way than others. My grandma told me when she lived on her farm in rural Arkansas in the 40s, she preferred wringing the necks of chickens over what her brothers had to do to slaughter other animals.

@@alexanderficken9354 That works for some diseases, but the difference of gut flora causes a pretty big deal. Ever heard of "Montezuma's Revenge"? @@alexanderficken9354 Again, vaccinations do nothing against food-borne sickness. It's only to vaccinate against major concerns. Digestive issues from eating foods or drinking water with a bacterial profile you're not used to is not something you can inoculate against. I learned how to eat with my hands on my trip to India , it was fun and I felt a different connection with my food … I carried a 70 lb snake on my back in Vietnam , until now I have no clue what kind of snake it was but it was silky , heavy and magnificent …rats like frogs taste like chicken , with all the spices added to it sometimes hard to tell , however depends on cooking styles in different parts of the world .

Nice to learn about the food, culture, and traditions of Tanzania. Very fascinating! Please label the video appropriately. Africa is a continent, not a country.

Fredrick Sway I agree to some extent but his other videos aren’t labeled by continent, rather by country. Look at his Vietnamese videos. None of them say Asia’s tribal food. A lot of people think Africa is one big country and it’s not. By labeling it appropriately, that’s one step towards dispelling that myth.

@@lchi89 I understand ur argument...Simple research says Vietnam related keywords have a search volume of 200k in United States alone, meanwhile Africa as a Continent has a search volume of 368k, So 🤷...

I've just discovered your food shows yesterday. I've seen many food vlogs over the years but yours is the BEST of the best so far. Your shows are not only about the foods, but we also get to see the culture and way of life too. It's really enjoyable .

One of the best books that I have ever read is," The Tunnel in The Sky" by a Robert Heinlien. In the story the main character makes the statement, "Primative, does not mean stupid." Likewise, a lot of people laugh at me because I wear a belt and suspenders, carry a Zippo cigarette lighter, Swiss Army knife and a handkerchief in my pants pockets. Also I always carry a Mini Maglite flashlight on my belt with freshly charged batteries. Just because people do things differently does not mean that they are wrong! Before I decide something is not a good way of doing something, I try to learn all I can about it.

huge respect to this host for actually trying all the foods with little fanfare. often people try to make a spectacle and hype up some kind of gross-out factor for views (like "oooh eww they're drinking blood oh gross") which is so disrespectful to the cultures that offer the food and sensationalist - not to mention incredibly rude towards the people that are sharing what is often considered a valued delicacy they don't get to eat every day. Seeing that kind of behavior on social media always makes me cringe so bad. This guy just tastes the food and describes it from a flavor perspective as best as he can, without trying to make a big show out of eating things like offal, blood or testicles and treats them like perfectly ordinary things to eat.
