While greatly improved, it looks like there is still lots of surface scratches that could be removed. Was it that the customer didn't want to pay for a complete paint correction?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing Жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes that was the point, the customer was only concerned about the water spots and dried residue, they didn’t really notice the swirls at all. I only charged to remove the spots and improve the swirls by 50%+. This was not a paint correction, it was our paint enhancement service which is our most popular service. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pc2jhc-Qt6mYgmw.html

Yeah….everyone has their budget. I charge $900 for our paint corrections and $500 for our Paint Enhancements. It’s substantial to most people. Also I will talk people out of a paint correction most times because I know it will only get swirled again because they may not take care of it properly. As you may know paint corrections are not always advantageous.

The Gyeon wax is actually the same as Soft99 Fusso coat but expensive. Fusso coat is better and gives you more quantity for the money. Both are PTFTE based wax.The advantage with Gyeon is it comes in a tube form which makes it easy to smear onto a polishing pad like you did.

Great great video phil. This came out great. Can i ask please? How do you build/sell a package, for this customer situation witch you dont know prior how the paint will respond? And as a former mobile detailer how do you see your transaction on a shop based , specially and polishing and paint correction jobs? I am asking because i see many very very good mobile detailers that performing Polishing/paint correction services in couple of hours, but a shop needs.... several days to complete!! How is that possible? Is the level of...."perfection" that a shop based business provide vs mobile detailing on correction jobs?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing Жыл бұрын
Hi. Great question. So when this customer came in for an estimate I did a test spot and just hand polished one of the worst areas. That way I knew what to expect. I figured jobs like this will always need a little extra polishing anyway so I charge a little more than what I would normally charge for our paint enhancements. As far as mobile vs shop, shops handle many vehicles at a time so they will tell customers that their vehicle may take a few days, but in reality it can be done much quicker, it’s just they take their time because they have many other vehicles in the shop also. For mobile or smaller guys like us we focus on one vehicle at a time and get it done much quicker. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are doing a better job or getting it perfect, because end results are based on each service and what the customer is expecting and most importantly what they are paying. I hope that helps. 😎👍🏼

@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing Жыл бұрын
Hi. Not sure exactly what you mean by that. That's not how a detailing business actaully charges for their services. our trying different methods to achieve the results we get are all part of the service we provide. For jobs like this we look at he vehicle first, do a test spot, then give suggestions and prices to the custoemr. once we settle on what they want and the price, thats it. The process we go through is all part of the service. Sometimes we win sometimes we loose...what I mean by that is some jobs are easier than others even though we may have first thought it would be a tough one... other jobs may end up being more challenging and take more time than expected. either way the price we discussed stays the same. Thats How a true professional Detailer should do his job. It would be inappropriate to simply charge the customer more without first discussing what other issues or problems we may run into. We also don't charge for products used, all of that is built into the price fro the beginning. Sometimes we use less product, sometime more....either way doesn't matter, price does not go up, but neither does it go down. True detailers running a proper business will know that. Have you seen or experienced detailers doing what you suggested in your comment?

Hi. Not really sure, the customer only started noticing them a few weeks before we worked on it.

Hi. Yes I know, I answered by saying I was not sure. The customer doesnt know either. they only started noticing the waterspots a few weeks before we polished it. There was no way of knowing how long the waterspots had been on there. What exactly are you trying to figure out?

What hand polish did you use for the spot check?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 11 ай бұрын
Hi. I don't remember. I usually just grab the first polish i find in the cabinet to test it. it doesn't really matter to much. It was just to see if the water spots could be removed with a light hand polish.

@@MirandaDetailing No worries. Thank you for the response. The reason I ask is I think I have some similar soap residue spots from when I tried to wash my van in direct sun and tried to do too much at once.

@@OhDannyBoy2k You're Welcome. Yeah that can happen. Usually a light polish and medium foam pad light what we used in the video will work well

Oh gosh. I think I have to archive this video to my library for water spots. One of your better videos Phil. My guess is that most of the defects were self-inflicted by the owner? No judgment by me, because few years ago I would have done same thing. The owner probably loves the car and my hope is you gave instructions how to care for it. Um.....Carpro Descale is ok, kinda. My limited experience with it is only fresh water spots and light mineral deposits. It's just ok. I use Gyeon Quick View almost all the time now. Quick and easy. This video is one of the reasons I dislike black paint. Shows just everything. I thought the Camaro turned of fantastic! Great job folks. Hi wife!

CarPro Descale is too weak for these waterspots. Labocosmetica Purifica is the shampoo for this job. Way stronger.

Looks like someone has been washing with HARD water!! Batmobile looks great. I like using Meguiars water spot polish paired up with whatever polish I am using to help pull out water spots. Has not failed me yet. Great video!

Oh yeah, the certification training can’t be done online, it has to be done in person. I do offer online training either 1-1 or a class up to 10-15 people, but that’s basic polishing and coatings and I can only show and teach on camera in a zoom meeting.

Yeah that’s true sometimes I can slow the passes down. I have found doing that increases heat so I don’t it often. I rather do slightly quicker passes and keep things cooler. But that’s one good method.
