Believe me it is amazing. I just seen it in the theater

It's a pretty good movie in terms of hitting all the Sci-fi sweet spots and graphics quality. The big-budget CGI definetly shines through DESPITE the plot. I have alot of gripes about the plot though. The movie never clearly explains the appeal of digital clone concept; do you live on as a digital entity or are you simply cloned into a chip? My answer to whether or not the wandering earth plan makes sense entirely depends on this question. If the original human actually continues to exist in the digital format, then I think digitzation makes sense. It's way easier to ship all of humanity in chip form a space ship to colonize Alpha Centuari than to move the entire planet across 4.2 light years. If the digital form is a clone, then it makes sense to move as many humans out of the solar system as possible (i.e. wandering earth), since digitized version of humans are not the same as the original, and not saving humans would paramount to mass suicide. Since this was not explained clearly to the audience or to humanity as a whole in the movie, it's really hard to justify the wandering earth plan IMO, especially since it still killed off half of humanity because of limited under-ground city capacity.
