In this video, Brad experiments with the Fermzilla All Rounder and a spunding valve to explore the possibility of brewing a crisp, clean lager at room temperature. Traditionally, lagers require cooler fermentation temperatures to suppress the production of fruity and spicy esters. Fermenting under pressure acts as a lid on these esters, preventing them from becoming too pronounced. This method can reduce the yeast's tendency to produce esters, enabling the fermentation of lagers at warmer, room temperatures without sacrificing the clean, crisp character desired in a high-quality lager.
Here's a link to most of the equipment Brad used in this video: shorturl.at/xzNQT

I cut the hose so that the float just touches the bottom. I also use a filter on the pickup. For a weight I use a glass cupboard door pull. They are predrilled and easy to clean. They come in different sizes and weights. I use a piece of stainless wire to attach it to the filter. It keeps the filter in the wort under the float. Filter stays clean. I also marked my all rounder for level. When level the stand ring is at the 2l mark.

I've cut my dip tube shorter and it helped a lot. That said, I do still tip it a bit in the stand as the level gets down near the bottom. Nice part of the round bottom is it rotates in the stand.

That is exactly how I pressure transfer. Even if the beer was not pressure fermented, I transfer this way to stay oxygen free. I have also cut all my dip tube hoses shorter. To the point that the filter just reaches the bottom of the fermenter. Most times I can easily get the last dregs without tipping the all rounder.

The pickup needs to be cut, it will coil up and do what you just had. I was using a rising ball shut-off on the gas side to transfer, not keeping it under pressure. Too much foaming, but I knew there was an extra 6 liters, and didn't want to blow it though a spunding valve. I am going to try filling 1 keg, then spill to another keg for the excess, and keep it pressurized. Great channel bwt

Love your videos Brad. Yes cut it, and if you turn your All Rounder Base the other way up to can tilt the fermenter within the stand, saving you trying to balance it.

Cut off about 10inch of the standard line which worked a bit a better on the second brew. Tap the side of the fermenter which works when it get stuck on the side. I agree you need a weight. ill try the marble in the filter

You have to cut the length of the pickup...they use the same kit for the pickup in the larger fermenter set they sell (bigger all-rounder).

Not at all. Another benefit of pressure fermenting is it helps with clarity. Transferred beer was very clear right off the hop.

Spunding 2.0 doesn't work that great. It's very fussy, and hard to dial in by simply turning the knob. There something about the design that doesn't work well. When something as simple in parts as that doesn't work, you know it's a bad design. Gauges have to be bombproof. Now you have to buy them in pairs, to compare them to each other...?
