I've driven a F750 non CDL with a Cummins in it, thing was a beast. I have a F350 dump with the 6.2 which is fine but it's matted to the 10 speed which I don't like. I get 7 MPG while towing a dump trailer 75% of the time.

The biggest observation (besides payload) is brakes. Comparing 2012-2015 era trucks the 450/550 will cook rotors over time…never had a brake issue in the 650/750 trucks. You’ve got me curious if the new trucks with the exhaust brake make a big difference…we have a 16/17 750 with the exhaust brake but no 450/550’s…they are all older 6.7’s. And everything I’m comparing is used as chip trucks in the tree industry.

Had multiple 550’s…I’m always over loaded, More so than you said.. in my opinion…5 yards of gravel is an average load not a heavy load lol. Great trucks but glad I up graded to a larger truck with my CDL.

So 3 yards of crushed gravel is payload for my 550. 19,500 lbs. I’m 6,000 overloaded with 5 legally. My transmission is now going they told me that’s why. I got another 550 now too

You can order a larger hp engine. There are three different types. Depends on your pocket and preference/needs.

YOU CAN SEND OUT THE F750 TO MARMON HERRINGTON TO ADD 4X4 IF NECC, BUT IS QUITE EXPENSIVE.

I almost got one but my dealer said it has a worse turning radius then the 550 so I just got another 550 instead

What about insurance? Not asking what you pay, none of my business but is the 750 significantly more to insure or not that bad?

Which one of these two has less steering wandering? I had two ford trucks 2006 F350 and 2015 F250, one was worst then the other, steering wheels were very loose, front wheels where flapping side to side on the straight highway. Very tiring to drive like that, have to correct your steering every second just to go straight. Mechanics told that it is typical for the ford work trucks, and nothing we can do about it, they even have a term for it "Ford Wander".

I’d say the same. They are probably even worse than your trucks. A lot of people complain about that but honestly I am used to it and don’t even notice anymore

Don’t need a CDL for air brakes anymore unless you go over 26k GVW

Idk tho the 550 cant carry what the 750 can and 750 is dealing with much more weight ive seen people in concrete load them up like a 10 wheeler dump but on short distance only

Yes. I can put 10 yards of heavier stuff in but not drive far also super illegal

@@BruceDragon-sf1tr you need your cdl to drive this 750. It’s 33k rating. 26k is the cutoff point

@@tandtlandscapeandmasonryI have one. Whoever told you that doesn’t know what they are talking about. It’s a 205” WB truck, which you can get in an F550. It has the same wide track front end as a 450/550 the big difference on a 600 is the front coils, dual overloads in the back and 245 tires vs the 225’s on the F450/550
