The Jamestown decimal degrees can be converted to minutes easily by multiplying the decimal part of the Lat or Long by 6 since there are 60 minutes in a degree. You can do it in your head. In the 46.9 multiply the 9 by 6 and get 54 minutes. 98.6, multiply the 6 by 6 and get 36 minutes. This works because one minute of Lat or Long is 6 minutes, two minutes of Lat or Long is 12 minutes, etc.

Pertaining to Question #25 beginning at about the 8:12 time mark, the obvious answer (because the other two are not correct) is ATC authorization. However, in an earlier video, you mentioned the "magenta" colored circle with the runways in it is a "non-towered" airport. So, my question is, who is the ATC authority you're getting authorization from if this is a non-towered airport? Thank you.

Don't confuse non-towered with non controlled airspace. There is no tower at this airport but due to the dashed magenta line around the airport which refers to Surface "E" airspace which is controlled, ATC clearance in the form of an authorization would be required. This has changed a bit since this question was first written, however the area around the airport which is surface "E" airspace would require an authorization. What changed was class "E" extensions do not require and authorization. Example a class "D" airport (blue dashed lines) has a class "E" extension (magenta dashed lines) off of it. This would Not require an authorization. Hope that helps.

@@AeroworksProductions Thank you fro your response and for being patient with me. However, I'm not confusing non-towered with non-controlled. I am confused about "non-towered" vs "ATC." I'm just just wondering, per the question that was asked and the "correct answer," this is apparently a non-towered (yet controlled) airport. So, who is the "ATC authority" if you're not talking with "a tower" at the airport itself?

Typically, a 4 mile ring (circle) would be 4 miles in diameter not, a circle with a 4 mile radius. It would be just like a 4 mile square would be represented by its maximum outer dimension of 4 miles. Am I wrong? Please advise regarding your statement on Question 26. Thanks.

Ok. I have to disagree with you. You explained question #2 wrong. Latitude lines run north and south where longitude lines run east and west.

sniper1958 Lines of latitude (parallels) run east-west around the globe and are used to measure distances NORTH and SOUTH of the equator.

@@AeroworksProductions Ok I want to make sure I'm clear. You just said Latitude run east and west around the earth. I guess I was taught wrong after 21 years of land navigation in the Marine Corps. I was taught Longitude lines run around the globe EAST and WEST and Latitude lines run NORTH and SOUTH. I guess I got lucky and never got lost using a compass.

Lines of longitude run N/S through the poles. 0° runs through Greenwich, England. As such, your location in longitude terms is the amount you are west (when in the US) of Greenwich. So the lines run N/S, the value therefore measures your E/W position.

"It's a LONG way to the top, if you wanta rock and roll!!" Follow the Longitude line to the top & bottom of the planet and the Lat line around the girth (eg Equator.) Lat Long is the order of numbers too!!

this is easy. the only real challenge are the airport runway locations. ie. at the base at runway 15, etc. looking left where is the plane.. i wish u did those examples... i hope people can do these very simple chart questions. my 10 yo can do these in seconds.
