I daily drove a 2011 Ram 2500 diesel with a 7 inch lift and 37 inch tires for 12 years. No major issues, but I also didn't do any performance modifications. The stock 68RFE is the weak point on the HD Rams. Recently moved to an F450 since Stellantis is doing strange stuff here in the US.

@@BAWAutomotive I love the 450, but I am only 5,000 miles in. Can't really comment on the reliability from a personal perspective. Also, I have a 2024 High Output so the motor is a bit of an unknown entity. I will say that the 450 handles a 26k lb/12,000kg gooseneck without breaking a sweat. I'm in Maryland and have the Appalachians to the North and West of me. No issues with this kind of weight. Heading to Ohio on Saturday through the mountains with my smaller trailer (14,000lb 30' enclosed car hauler on a conventional hitch). I doubt that I will even feel it.

@@BAWAutomotive It's worth mentioning that my 2011 Ram made 350 hp and 650 lb ft of torque with the 6.7L Cummins. The Ford makes 500hp and 1,200 lb ft from the 6.7L Powerstroke.

Yeah rams ???? F truck ????? 70 series all day for Australian conditions and proven no questions asked. many you tubers have shown the smallest issue outback can cause a 4 -12 week delay for parts from USA. Good for beach and weekend and light tours but for serious exploration Toyota Toyota Toyota.!!!! It’s just a shame that the 70 will be phased out ram has expanded to Australia and else where because there sales in America are down year on year and only getting worse. Australians love to line up for American and euro seconds. we will have the untested electric trucks forced on us in the near future as well. Take us back to 60’s 70’s 80’s series and gq simple last forever and can do everything (except drive fast in the city 😂) Love the content as always and it’s good to get tips and tricks for build my own new 79.

I have just purchased a 2500 with. GVM upgrade for an additional $900 - for $183k - I have 2 x 80 series and love them but I have to say that the RAM is very capable off road and fuel economy is insane - 11-12ltr/100km around town and 15/16ltr/100km towing 3ton van...would I but a Toyota again?.....highly doubt it!!

Yeah we also bought a RAM 1500 and are loving it. Gotta say though, there will always be a soft spot for the 70s for us...

Guys assuming Amy has forgiven you, what paperwork is involved in Shipping New or nearly New Dodge Ram, with Gooseneck hitch connections and ideally air brakes( the word to Cimarron Trailers is possibility of Livestock trailer shipped from USA to here in IRELAND to haul pigs/cattle), the RAM 2500 And costs, shipping etc, Liam in IRELAND

You guys should be focus on the numbers in your business, Toyota will outsell the American trucks combined there fore you have more customers. On saying that the new 70 series looks like a piece of junk, look at all the short cuts taken just to put a 4 cylinder in it. The front guards are a rushed under engineered part, look at the air intake and other plastics that are now so thin and cheap. The 4 cycnder will not be a proper towing rig as its torque band is not there, I can see these engines blowing up as people try to load them up like they do with the V8.

2.8 is a solid unit, does everything the V8 does and it’s better on fuel, plenty of them have worked hard & clocked up considerable km without an issue.

the 4cyl isnt a new engine.... its been out of the hilux with no problem.

@@Pepe-dq2ib true, that is why it will fail in a heavier vehicle that traditionally carried and towed heavier loads. Not to mention the thin torque band of the 4 cylinder

@@christurner68 miner fleets and other profession can get it in the diesel 4.2 1Hz, but not sold as an option in dealers.
